Fofana means we’re sorted at CB.

Fofana and Koulibaly is an upgrade on Christensen and Rudiger as well.

Wing/fullback upgrade with Cucurella and an upgrade in attack with Sterling. We can definitely cement 3rd at that point.

De Jong would be a cherry on top but most likely won’t happen
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Koulibaly Fofana and Silva is top level

The back ups are what....Azpi, Chalobah and one of Sarr or Emerson?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Cucurella was very good at LCB for Brighton, that’s an option we’ll probably use a lot once Chilwell is back to his best.

I wonder if Cucurella could even cover RWB as well, that would be handy

Hes a brilliant signing

I'm still very intrigued by chukwuemenka signing though gone straight into the first team

Did a bit of research there and found out Cucurella is supposedly quite two footed, so yeah he can cover both wing back positions

That signing just got even better

Yeah. A little less worried about arsenal after tonight. Not that one game means anything

Their summer hype reeks so much of United's last year, and to an extent ours the year before.

Between a questionable manager getting a great window, or a brilliant manager getting a decent window & I'm fearing the latter club more every single time. Hence Spurs are WAY more of a worry to me than Arsenal.

Arsenal have added less quality than we have ffs and people are acting like they’re suddenly miles clear of us because of a pre season win when they had played 3 more games than us lol

Not sure he’ll be in the first TEAM, just the squad. But yes, I’m excited by him too. Sounds like he is a future star. I’m happy that we are targeting players like him and Casadei from Inter.

The problem with Zinchenko & Jesus (as signings) is they'll both have gotten used to being side men which can take a toll psychologically. Granted the circumstances couldn't be much better to make them feel comfortable in their new roles as leaders of a team - same league, only a few steps down in quality & a familiar manager - but you never know how players will deal with that pressure. Morata's a great (exaggerated) example of it crippling a player mentally

Our summer's been more impressive imo. Sterling's not the same, been out of form for awhile but has always been in & out of City's first XI. Koulibaly was Napoli once Hamsik left and Cucurella's on the up.

Shame we didn’t sign Kounde, then there would be no need to pay a crazy high amount for Fofana.

If Kounde turns out to be crap for Barca I’ll happily eat my words.

Fofana > Koundé. Younger, taller, proven in this league. And from what I’ve watched of him he’s a fecking outstanding defender for someone who’s just 21.

Could have a serious partnership on our hands for a decade with him and Colwill together if we manage to bring him in

posted on 6/8/22

I think we'll get him for £85m. Boehly will pay whatever they want.

£75m I reckon. Maybe £5m on top in add ons

Question mark over Gallagher as I think he is very square pegged in 343
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Maybe in a 3412 he'd be alright? Just drop in behind a front two of Havertz Sterling or whoever is up top

Barcelona are closing on Marcos Alonso deal! Barça and Chelsea are finalising the agreement, working on the last details in order to get deal completed very soon. 🚨🔵🔴 #FCB

Been told final fee will be less than €10m. Personal terms already agreed three months ago.

Finally

Maybe we buy de Jong as we need them to be able to register Alonso

Certainly don't want Auba anywhere near the club

#Chelsea are willing to go to £85M for Wesley Fofana and believe that would be enough to sign him from Leicester City.

So with this new owner do we basically get to spend whatever we like again

Seems like Todd isn’t scared of these super high transfer fees

Worth remembering we have sold a lot pf players on recent years

This summer we have a sticky situation where no one wants to pay for our deadwood. We can't even get fees for Ziyech and Werner.

But we also need a lot of new players

comment by T.J (U15973)

Probably more a case of other teams not willing to pay the wages we are giving our deadwood, making it very difficult to get rid off them on a permanent basis.

And, yes these signings are necessary but we need more so let's get Fofana and De Jong
