What transpires over the coming days, weeks or more is going to completely shape what direction we go in.

If Boehly is able to gain majority control or just outright buy out Clearlake then I'll be optimistic for the future. But if Egbahli and Clearlake win out then I think we're destined to be nothing more than a top six selling club for the foreseeable future if not considerably longer.

A recent poll showed that about 75% of Chelsea fans want Boehly whereas only about 25% want Clearlake in full control.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm failing to see how people actually know what these people that own us are really actually about, in order to vote that way
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Exactly

I think it's fairly clear to see that the decision to buy all these young players as well as the U25 policy comes from Eghbali/Clearlake Capital.

It's a philosophy that doesn't really line up with all the things Boehly said publicly when the takeover happened. He appeared to want a more balanced squad including ready made, experienced players that would be ready to win the league. Reflected in the type of signings we made at the beginning of this ownership like Sterling, Aubameyang and Koulibaly.

Were those good signings ? No, but the point being that there's a clear difference in the profile of players we were signing then compared to now.

The Boehly/Eghbali relationship issue was reported a while back, maybe as much as a year ago if memory serves. Reports also suggested that the decision to part ways with Poch was an Eghbali/Clearlake Capital decision. As it seems that Boehly wanted to keep him.

It's not overly difficult to see what the main differences in opinions and philosophies are. According to the reports that have been coming out anyway.

Sources at #Chelsea say Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart delivered an 18-page report detailing why Mauricio Pochettino needed to be replaced, which Clearlake Capital supported, however Todd Boehly attempted to veto.

I'm a bit puzzled why the stats nerds didn't wanna keep him?

Maybe they're using different algorithms to one's in the public space cos all of them (according to people who care about this stuff) pointed to a classic example of a team doing well to a point but steadily improving in key metrics. The stats were spelling it out - another season with this manager & improvement is highly likely.

Not sure what you were watching - cos I saw 8.5 months of torrid awful football........arguably regression, with a couple of spikes and 0 consistency.......well consistently bad. And then funnily enough with the forced absence of Enzo who had been one of the starters for most the year (wrongly) we then started seeing improvements that should have happened the previous year, not in fricking April! I am sorry but its very easy and evident why he was fired.......just disappointed they needed 18 pages, honestly feel I could have made a compelling argument in about 3 sentences, Pooch was that bad.

Boehly over Clearlake any day. Least Boehly actually is a fan and cares and wants to be the best. And he’s approachable and talks to people. The other guy Bengali whatever his name is, can just tell he’s a khunt, doesn’t speak a word to the media or to the players/manager. Boehly use to have dinner with Poch

And this shows your complete lack of football knowledge

Last 3 months we’d finally settled (even earlier than expected for a manager) and began to look seriously good and improve game by game. Players also loved him as did the staff and ex players. Was building and cooking, we’d have been title challengers this season

I thought we looked pretty decent in the last few months of Poch's reign. Probably a bit too late but given the nature of the squad, he didn't do too badly imo

I didn't expect him to stay though, fans never really appreciated him and I'm guessing he didn't agree with the policy of selling academy players etc. I'm guessing he was in favour of keeping the likes of Gallagher and Chalobah.

We didn’t pretty decent. We fumbled our way to some points by the skin of our teeth and got lucky with results out of our hands which then lead to us finishing much higher than expected.

It was a bland, non identifiable style throughout the season all the way until the end and a manager of his experience and caliber should not have taken so long to realize things all of us saw at the start of the season. He gave off zero energy and never felt like he cared for the club imo. It was a job. A job he was bad at.

I'm not going to go back & sight all the sources that claimed the stats were in his favour, but basically all of them were saying keep this manager! There was discernible trends in so many of them, we were very good at stages 1 & 2 in pressing, build up, key passes, etc... but stage 3 there was always a big drop off. And it was a striking one in many of them, i.e. stage 1 & 2 was top 4 quality, stage 3 bottom half quality.

Now I'm not gunna pretend to know how to balance stats out to draw accurate conclusions of good present & future performance, I don't care enough about them, but people who do were all saying this is promising reading & suggests a team going on an upward trajectory. So my point is because this ownership is heavily depend on stats, I'm surprised they didn't want him? Hence maybe they're using different algorithms or there were other reasons behind making the change (and I can think of a big one involving Gallagher).

That's the statistical side of it. You're talking about the eye test, which for me he also passed but that's just me.

Wasn't a fan of Poch at all....was fizzing that we hired a Spurs failure to be honest...but I gave him the benefit

He was fackin awful for months, & people kept saying it's a work in progress project & who else are we going to get...

To be fair he finally clued up to better substitutions & not picking Sterling every week just because he was earning £1.2m a fackin month, & we improved

We got to two domestic finals & into the lower tier Europa farmers league (& it really is) - but I was swayed that he might be our man....& then we sack him & employ a guy that's got no Prem experience as an actual manager...

So we're back to square one - aint we
