I’m watching the England game, and I am amazed at how frequently TAA loses the ball. He tries so many Hollywood passes, and they almost never come off. Does he do that for Liverpool too?

Would much rather Boehly has 100% control than Clearlake. Boehly actually seems alright and like he gets it and he actually has talked to the fans, Clearlake are just the suits that hide
--------------------------------------------------------
Seems alright as a person, doesn't seem like he gets it. This is a guy who once proposed a North vs. South divide match

I do prefer him to the other guy though, the Clearlake employee guy? Forget his name now. He also doesn't get it but gives off arrogant pr!ck vibes.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I seriously doubt either are who we want. Completely new ownership would be my preference.

Lol who is Draper and how's he made it to a semis.

Feels strange not to see Djokovic/Alcaraz
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He's really good. British number 1. Fell short against world number 1 Yannick Sinner but no shame in that. First two sets were very tight.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Looks our best bet since Murray....top 10 & has it about him
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Absolutely. Whether he'll become good enough to win a Slam remains to be seen but he'll definitely represent and give people a reason to get excited again.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Raducanu was good enough & she's rubbish
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think she is very talented. Has flaws in her game, especially her serve, but that can be improved. Made a string of bad off court decisions though.

Think it'll make little difference now. Damage has been done.

Yes if has, but I would rather we get back on track sooner rather than later. If we has good new ownership tomorrow we could be a serious club again in about 5 6 years

What transpires over the coming days, weeks or more is going to completely shape what direction we go in.

If Boehly is able to gain majority control or just outright buy out Clearlake then I'll be optimistic for the future. But if Egbahli and Clearlake win out then I think we're destined to be nothing more than a top six selling club for the foreseeable future if not considerably longer.

A recent poll showed that about 75% of Chelsea fans want Boehly whereas only about 25% want Clearlake in full control.

I'm failing to see how people actually know what these people that own us are really actually about, in order to vote that way

I mean boehly isn't even a football man he's a businessman... And as far as I know doesn't openly let everyone outside his direct sphere know what his actual business strategies are in his own sector, let alone your average football supporter

Like with any industry, company, consortium etc it's what we see and hear in the public domain from them. Which is never the whole picture of course but it's the best we have.

Boehly made a pig's ear of things when Clearlake consortium took over but I think his intentions are good and that he genuinely wants us to be the best team we can be on the pitch. Don't think I can say the same of Egbahli and Clearlake at this stage.

Clearly him and clearlake can't go on together as a team

Nope, it's going to be a very high profile divorce. Sadly one that will likely overshadow the actual football this season. Expect Maresca to get inundated with questions about it at every press conference while it lasts.

All this pointless noise just makes me miss Abramovich. By the time he left he wasn't even that wealthy compared to the competition (partly cos we blew half his money lol), but the power of one man at the top with standards, a simple but effective structure & a genuine desire to own a successful football club (on the pitch) is something we took for granted.

We're never getting that back, nor is anyone else (at our level) having it - that self sacrificial, one man with a dream dynamic. We didn't "win the lottery" getting a wealthy owner, given our location that was inevitable, but we did win the lottery getting him.

Only if he does well enough to keep questions about clubs buying Palmer and his own future away.

We didn't blow Roman's money, he had his asset forcibly removed. Between the value of the club and the less tangible benefits of ownership I'm sure he would have profited.

I'm sure he, like everyone else, knew he was never getting that money back unless he sold. And, my opinion, I don't think he ever would've.

Think he'd have pasted it down for his son & we'd have become a family business.

Good video from MAH explaining the simple fact that Clearlake Capital who are the majority shareholder are an investment firm that manages assets.

https://youtu.be/QJZ5c4GeYX8?si=QHEytp_ulRTpNqzt

So why would we expect them to do anything other than manage CFC as an investment asset that they can profit from ? Particularly with this buying youth to sell for a profit policy. Problem is that doesn't particularly benefit us as a team on the pitch.

With Boehly out of the picture we can surely expect Clearlake Capital to go even harder down that route. Really not sure where that leaves us as football club in terms of success on the pitch. Doesn't feel like that would be the priority anymore.

You need to define exactly what successful means in this context.

To Clearlake Capital successful might mean making a continued profit from young players bought in and then sold on. While maintaining us as nothing more than a top six side. Or even less.

As fans I'm sure that we wouldn't define that as successful as we want and expect us to be challenging for top four at least and trophies.
