Worth remembering Maresca is still a young coach who is learning with this team, he will make mistakes. I like how he has been decisive trying to fix them though.

Yeah he is. He needs to be Buffon/DDG good at stop stopping to compensate for everything else.

Don't like the slow football we played, real lack of urgency.

Anytime we moved it quick, United were on the back foot.

Don't think Jackson was the problem today. Thought he was fine. Much more alarmed by Madueke.

Seemed more that we held our ground instead of being held to ransom. Clubs were trying to get ridiculous amounts from us only to sell for less to others. Cant win with this fan base.

Sign player = terrible signing to the cost

Dont sign player because of cost = Missed opportunity

Madueke has fallen off quite a bit. Doesn't seem to be taking on his man anywhere near as much

Anyway, we haven't beaten Arsenal at home in five years and they really need a comeback win so expecting them to beat us.

Strange considering it caused more problems for us today, kept giving the ball away by just dilly dallying on the ball

True, not saying it was easy, but we NEEDED and still desperately need a CB, GK and Forward. Will still be a problem in Jan, will still be a problem next summer

Sanchez is not a good enough number 1 and that penalty incident illustrates why. He's fine as a number 2 but you need a very good keeper to be where we want to be.

Don't think Fofana covers himself in any glory, no way near Hoijlund for the cross

I think Jackson has immense potential and is a weird scapegoat for today. Only want us to sign a striker if there's an obvious upgrade and I don't consider there to be many available.

GK and CB I'd agree — but again, not a load of top level ones on the market. The club presumably thinks one of the 9 keepers and 6 CBs on our books will blossom into an elite player.

As I alluded to, options weren't exactly great. Just in general I can't think of any GK who was available

Palmer seems to be getting less and less of the ball in the final third. Would love to see the stats (re. no. of touches/passes) but his shot volume has almost certainly gone down

Jackson didn't get the service at all today so I'm not going to blame him but Madueke needs to do much better

Yes and no. Whenever we countered and messed up the final pass United would counter back and we'd be out of position and Maresca hates that. He didn't like the Newcastle performance at all, wanted us to pass a lot more.

He gets marked out of games which wouldn't be possible if our wingers were a threat.

Don't mind passing a lot more, but it's got to be a bit quicker and forward.

He surely can't be impressed with what he saw today, quality was a shambles

Couldve used Sancho today
