Don't mind passing a lot more, but it's got to be a bit quicker and forward.
He surely can't be impressed with what he saw today, quality was a shambles
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I agree - but I think his reasoning will not be we were being too slow in possession

Palmer seems to be getting less and less of the ball in the final third. Would love to see the stats (re. no. of touches/passes) but his shot volume has almost certainly gone down
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He gets marked out of games which wouldn't be possible if our wingers were a threat.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That's a fair point - though I wouldn't say that Madueke and Neto are getting as many one on one opportunities as you'd expect given the opposition are basically shadowing Palmer

I think once they start converting then itll free up Palmer. But Palmer needs to adapt as well

It is comparative to some of the possession football we've seen over the last 4-5 years. We're not doing the grinding switch through the back 4 (one at the time) sh!te now, and are developing nice interplay in the midfield.
Playing possession football quickly is very hard to come by. That most certainly does take time.
Just feel we're more dangerous when we move the ball quicker, as shown in glimpses in the first half. When we slow it down it allows the opposition to get back in their shape and then we struggle.
I guess Maresca will argue and say we don't lose the ball as much in transition by slowing it down etc.

I actual prefer counter attacking football — just saying the longer Maresca is here, the slower and more possession based we'll become.
Anyway, another opportunity missed for me. That game was their for the taking and ultimately we failed to deliver the goods.
At least it's not a defeat that many of us predicted before Mick off and we came back from conceding first.
Maresca won't like how we went from attacking their goal with two mins left of the game to defending our box and clinging on to our draw. That sort of thing will drive him nuts.

I understand that, he hates the end to end nature of games and prefers us to control the match by having possession.
It's just finding that right balance and not keep the ball for the sake of it without any actual urgency
How was that not a red for Utd ??? Just watching replays my mind hasn't changed. VAR looked at that and decided it's not a red. How ????
Jackson wasn’t that bad today but he should’ve been subbed at some point

Yeah so do I. We're actually a transition team on paper - defensive minded CM's, all pace up front.
And like NPE I prefer counter football, but if we're determined to play possession I'll take this atm (it's vertically minded) especially if it's going to get better

This is my thinking especially if a couple pick up knocks
Disappointed not to get the win, one of those games where I think the age of the team showed
Had enough to beat them but played a little within themselves today
That being said, glad to come away from old Trafford without a chitty defeat
Wonder why we’re always so lethargic and timid away from home? Even when the opposition is awful.
Wolves should have battered us first half.
Bournemouth battered us too.
Newcastle awful.
Today awful.
Liverpool…was okay. And there for the taking and we played within ourselves.
West Ham we was okay too.
Big big games away from home for half a decade now we haven’t turned up other than maybe city away last year.

It’s a straight red and VAR should’ve told the ref it needed to be. He targeted Palmers knee while diving in. There’s no world where that isn’t a red card offense. They blew it massively.

Yup it was a disgusting tackle and could have seriously injured Palmer. Under current rules that's a straight red. No two ways about it.
The club should demand that those Var officials issue a statement describing exactly why they didn't think it was a red card. We need to know for clarification at very least.

We already have that on twitter
The referee issued a yellow card to Martinez for a challenge on Palmer. VAR checked for a potential red card and confirmed the referee’s call of no red card, deeming that it was a reckless challenge and not serious foul play

Should've been a red as he had no intention of playing the ball. Thankfully it was very late in the game so it didn't affect the end result.
