Again not true. Statistically we've created as many, if not more goalscoring opportunites than Arsenal this season.
------------------------------------------------
80% of statistics are made up on the spot.
-------------------------------------
Wait a minute; you just made that up, didn't you?
So Suarez is a 'world class' striker & yet you're league position is down to missing hatfuls of chances?
11 league goals in 29 appearances, does that make Jelavic world class given he's bagged 8 in 11?
Wait a minute; you just made that up, didn't you?

Aww poor VC. He's clearly so shaken by his club throwing away the title, he's stumbled on here and confused Liverpool fans with his own.

I'd love it if you could get those statistics for me?
If not, stop talking nonsense.

You don't think I'd say something like that without having some proof do you?

All stats from OPTA and EPL Index. Only up to January though, but enough for me to make my assumption, which was that we've created as many, if not more than Arsenal. I'll let you know at the end of the season when all stats are in whether or not I'm right.
The point remains though. We create enough, we don;t convert enough which is why it'd be great if we had an RVP type player.
FatJan
The thing is, if you had an RVP player, that would mean somewehre else on the pitch would be sacrificed, and you might not make so many chances.

-----------------------
Not really. If we had RVP instead of Carroll for example, who isn't the most creative of strikers, I think we'd create as many chances.
Do you thinkl you have a chance of getting RVP?
you spent £110m and "filled positional gaps".
How much will you have to spend to get the necessary "quality in the right positions".
Not even sure your bosses have the big money to spend, and you have few "assets" to cash in on.
The facts are simple, you've spent £58M on a pair of strikers (one of whom is apparently World Class) & they've yielded 15 league goals between them.
You would have to think some of the big clubs may come in and sniff after Suarez.
Personnaly I think he will stay, but if you don't make the CL next season he may move on.
I think it'll be Real Madrid rather than Barca.

-------------------
Two things. We didn't spend £110m. Carrol 35m, Downing 20m, Enrique and Adam 7m each and Henderson 16m. Thats £85m.
Yes we did spend £85 on filling positional gaps. We needed a striker we bought Carroll, we needed a left footed winger we bought Downing, we needed a left back we bouht Enrique and we needed some CM so we bought Adam and Henderson.
We still need a RW and a third striker.

ermmmm Suarez.
And of the players you have bought only Suarez and arguably Enrique are good enough for a top 4 team. That's where Liverpool have went wrong.
I thought Chelsea paid for Carroll

--------------------------------------------
The minus £15M man, was a work of genius
The Crouch transfer paying part of the Johnson fee was also inspired.
lots of players in top sides aren't 'good enough for a top 4 team' IMO
Once you cross a critical mass of quality in the first XI, the others are just very solid professionals who act as glue.
Barry, Milner, Carrick, Lescott, Young, Jones, Smalling, Song, Parker, Mikel, Kalou and quite a few more.
Very good solid professionals. But replaceable at the end of the day.
Yes I left out our uninspiring professional players. We're not a top4 side at the moment.
Its funny that a Spurs fan and Everton fan are having a laugh at our expense
Seasons end, we'll have won a trophy, maybe two, and as ever Spurs and Neverton will have nothing. Can two clubs be anymore mediocre?? Even when we're bad we're better than you.
Carrick is the only first team player at United that you mentioned and he is definitely top 4 quality and to be honest redconn, I've read many of your previous posts and I thought you had enough about you to recognize Carrick as the quality player that he is. For God sake he's been a first teamer since he arrived and look at all he has won!
Furthermore, apart from Adam, Liverpool's buys weren't bought as squad players. Why else has Henderson played so much??
Carrick's the best of that lot IMO admittedly. But I still think he's that level below the Vieiras, Keanes, Alonso, Scholes, Essien, Makalele, etc.
I think Henderson played a lot more than expected because Lucas and Gerrard missed so much of the season. I think he was bought as one for the future to be phased in carefully and circumstance saw him get a lot more starts than was planned.
Henderson and Carroll have plenty of time as they're kids on long contracts. Hand up, I was hoping for more from them sooner but that doesn't mean they won't keep developing.
Downing is the one that has really underperformed as he was supposed to be prem ready and at least chip in with 6 goals and 6 assists. That would be an average year for him. That one is the one that really hurt.
Downing was a risk though, Prem ready yes but playing for Liverpool is a big step up. There was always going to be question marks over whether he would be up to it.
But why is Henderson playing so much on the right then? Even if Lucas and Gerrard had been available for more games they wouldn't have been playing on the right anyway.
