I meant people choosing A.Johnson
I actually think England have a good selection or RB's. People WUM about Johnson and Walker but they're actually pretty good, and Richards is class
Walcott is one of the worst professional footballers I've ever seen in the Premier League, especially when you consider he plays for a top team like Arsenal. When he first signed from Southampton I was expecting big things, very excited about a prospective strike force of Rooney and Walcott. Then I watched him on a weekly basis and it was shocking as I'd never seen him play for Southampton, only heard all the media glorifying him. He is absolutely atrocious, with no discernible footballing talent whatsoever. He can't control the ball, he can't dribble (and that is an understatement), he has no vision, lacks tactical awareness, can't pass, sure as hell can't cross and is barely mediocre when it comes to finishing. Just a pathetic footballer.

walcott is a terrible footballer. if the lad wasnt quick then he would be playing in the local amateur league.
Richards not even first choice at City anymore
I think Walker or Johnson should replace him..
whoever says walcott just runs of the pitch and is poor clearly doesnt watch arsenal enough. he has been superb since the spurs game and he fully deserves a place in the starting 11

Walcott is one of the worst professional footballers I've ever seen in the Premier League,
Anyway, here in Britain we have a misconception that England are a strong and dominant team, capable of maintaining possession and taking the game to the opponents. Unfortunately this is pure fallacy. What we actually are good at, as we proved against Spain, is defending. If we set out as a containing, counter attacking team and swamped the middle of the pitch I fancy us very hard to beat. Then with that tactic Walcott may actually come to some use as his pace on the counter would be useful.
Walcott is one leg break away from the end of his career. Once he loses that pace he's a goner.
That's goner, not gooner.

redcon - you misunderstood; I don't mean that Richards, Lescott, Jones, Carrick, Milner and Barry are obvious stars, I'm trying to say that they do a quiet but vital role that has led to the respective teams high standing in the league x
I actually quite like Milner. Would take him at Spurs.
It is me chronic! Are you the one with the small weaner?

Do we? I don't think many English fans believe that. Most are aware of our lack of quality. Trawl this thread and you'll see how many people are lamenting our lack of ability.
BK, I don't know why you're starting Sturridge. He's worse than walcott and can't displace Kalou in the chelsea team. That says it all.
Adam Johnson is talented and most importantly, he's fresh because he's only been making cameo appearances for city. He can provide us with a moment of magic we need to win games, something we desperately lacked in our last tournament.
Hart
Richards - Jagielka - Lescott - Cole
-- Parker -- Lampard -- Carrick
Walcott -------------------------- Johnson
------------------Holt (Rooney)
Hart
Richards. Lescott. Cahill/jagielka. Cole
Gerrard. Parker. A Johnson
Ox Carroll. Sturridge
Rooney for ox or Sturridge when available.
Maybe carrick for A Johnson if that's too attack minded
If either Carroll or Crouch get to play for those first 2 matches then Micah should be a shoe in for right back. Of the options he's got the better cross and overlap technique. However when Rooney comes back I would go for the Walker option as we will probably be back to the 442 formation.
considering the relative strength (read weakness) of the current side, I don't think playing Couch and Carroll would be a bad shout.
In all likelihood opposition probably only have one player capable of marking one of them. With two it would be a nightmare for defences.
Pretty? No.
Could it be effective? I wouldn't want to defend against that.
Young and Walcott on the wings. And all our fullbacks are good going forward and delivering good service.
