What do you consider success?
---

I consider the last 4 years to be failure because we should do better but haven't fulfilled our potential and we aren't making the most out of the resources we have.

But as I said - I don't make excuses for my teams' faults. I can accept we have problems that need to be rectified from the club's hierarchy of management to the players we have in the squad.

Liverpool fans can not accept the grim reality that they also failed this season. Their target was top 4 and you finished 8th. I know success is relative, but I don't see how your season could have been deemed successful - and your owners appear to agree with my point of view, or else Kenny Dalglish would have been given another season.

Liverpool may have been more successful over the past 5 years but we have overall been far better. A couple of lucky penalty shoot outs can't change that fact.

We have had many more 'great' moments over the past few seasons, and won more big games. My personal memories are much better than yours

In footballing terms, you would rather have the memory of being there when you played Barca, Milan, Real etc than remembering that dull game when you beat a championship on pens to win a cup where most teams rest players and try out youth.

Liverpool are making no progress either haroldinho89 are you seriouslly soo thick? winning 1 tinky minky cup does not change anything. Remind me again where Birmingham and Portsmouth are? they have won trophies more recentrly then Arsenal would they swap places with us now if they had the chance? of course they would.

.....

Then you haven't been on our boards.

We're more than aware of our failings but the point remains that we've been more successful than Arsenal for over 5 years now... Unless you consider success to be something other than trophies.

So what is success to an Arsenal fan?

posted on 27/5/12

As a Chelsea fan, its time to end this.

Arsenal finished in the position they wanted even if it means they lack ambition, their board is happy. They are only interested in Income generated by CL. therefore, they had a succesful season.

Liverpool won the Carling Cup which is a trophy so their fans are happy about and gloat also about a Runners Up which is stupid. But the sticking point is this, The owners wanted CL qualification which you dont get by finishing 8th.King Kenny gets sacked, unsuccessful season.

In the end, Arsenal had a better season and this is coming from a Chelsea fan, Champions Of Europe

Its quite hilarious really, my dad is bigger than your dad type of responses. Oh well, i kinda hoped for a few sensible replies telling me why Arsenal players are leaving,,,and not all this 8th smiley rubbish; so enfantile really!

Now, do i get any sort of payment for getting all the youngsters of the streets and making old ladies feel safer

Was it 4 trophies since we last one? I counted the CL (in the same season), and FA Cup and a Carling Cup.

Is the 4th the FA cup you won this season to make it a successful campaign? Because the way LFC fans were going on about that, you'd have thought you'd have already won it.

Most of the top players leaving Arsenal seem to be doing so much better after life at the Emirates

Whereas our signings have come in and already won a cup in their first season.

''you came in acting like mr moral high ground but you've been beaten with facts.''

I did no such thing. And I've not been beaten by facts - by my own admission, I had said Liverpool are the bigger club. But we've been better over the last 20 years I would say. Certainly domestically.

''So what is success to an Arsenal fan?''

Winning trophies whilst maintaining Champions League qualification/ aiming for league title should be the height of our ambitions.

Liverpool's? Winning one meaningless trophy and staying in the top 10.

Aha... And here it is lads...

Adding a parameter that suits.

Just log off lad

Why didn't you say the last 5... Or the last 40

Because you have to have a number that looks good for Arsenal

Funny how history is allowed when it suits.
