Yeh, I think that Terry is more likely to get a fair trial from the FA.

JFID is suggesting that the police would not have had to investigate had the FA done so first and found Terry not guilty. My argument is that the police would not and should not rely on the findings of the FA when deciding whether there is a case to answer. They should carry out there own investigation.

Not what I was suggesting at all. I suggested that the fa could have dealt with this last year had the police not pursued it. I also pointed out they could still have persued it should they felt the need once the FA had investigated.

They only did so because of a public complaint. Anyway it is better for Terry as it looks like this case is going nowhere bar a surprise tomorrow.

The police have an obligation to investigate a public complaint, but you can not make the assumption that unless an incident is subject to a police investigation then it is an incompetent investigative process.
