Arab, you asked me where I would draw the line, you made it about me so I shared a little.

Coppers are people, I know a few, they are no better or worse than the next man.
------------------------------------------

I was discussing the copper. So when I said 'where do you draw the line' - I meant being a copper.

You might have been talking about the copper but you were addressing me.

If you had said "where do they" or where "does he" it would have been a lot clerer you were talikng about them rather than asking me a question.

You see how easy it is to misread what someone is saying?

Arab, any memeber of the public can make a complaint at any time, it doesn't mean their complaint is valid.
------------------------------

What is your point?

My point is there, plain asday complaints are not always valid.

i hate racism.

I have a girl coming back from maternity leave soon and sitting next to me.

My collegues were discussing this case yesterday when someone said... "you wont be able to talk about that when she is back"

My response was of course "WHY?!"

The response was to the effect of "well you cant talk about race when there is she is there cos she will report it"

come on! really?!

So just because i will be sitting next to a black girl with warped views on race i can no longer use the word black?!

The response was "well not really, you have to be careful with her"

So it seems that a number peoples views are that if you are white you can be racist but not if you are black?!
Has anyone else heard someone say this or believe it to be true?

My view is that everyone is the same and should be treated as such. So a accusation of racial abuse weather it be a white black green or blue man making the accusation should be treated equally.

Not being funny but i Work in Croydon, used to live in Mitcham, Tooting and Streatham and i have been called "white boy, cracker, white C you next tuesday"
more times than i can remember and have not felt the need to report it.

How easy it is to misread what someone is irrelevant to the point I am making. Im not saying that Terry is guilty here. I just think that it is unfair to be criticising a copper for reporting what he believed to be racism.

As I said White Wall, it would be a very brave judge to throw it out of court at this stage.

How does that come into what we are discussing. Have I said that the coppers complaint is valid? Have I said that Terry is guilty? The copper has done what we would expect of him - reported suspected racism . That is all I am trying to get across.

I bet your the sort of racist who specifies their preferred hot drink by colour rather than milk content thus making a clear definition that white tea is better than black tea because of the colour - what you should be doing is using the correct term; tea with milk or tea without milk

It has everything to do with the case and my feelings about the coppers actions are as valid as his views on the incident.

The fact this was done by someone watching from home and has caused this to drag on for so long is ridiculous.

What difference does it make if the copper witnesses something on TV or in the street? Why do you think it is any different? Should robbers that are only spotted due to CCTV not be prosecuted?

Arab, can you calrify your question further, is this an off duty copper or an on duty copper, are you expecting me to answer (and if so, why not take a look at my earlier replies on the subject) or is this a hyperthetical question.

CCTV, robbers stuff, I guess you are just exagerating for effect, let's keep this to the case in hand shall we?
