As for players who would, or would not get in each others squad, well Reina, Agger, Skrtel, Johnson, Gerrard, Lucas, and Suarez, are as good as, and in most cases better than their spurs counterparts.

Spurs are a footballing irrelevance in this country.
1 League Cup in 20 years pretty much tells you about the type of club your dealing with.
They had there little moment in the sun under Harry, who they have now replaced with AVB, who Im afraid for their sake, made his reputation in 1 year, with another mans team, and was then found to be a footballing illiterate when he went to Chelsea.
Joe Allen is a great young talent, who will be a valuable addition to Liverpool's squad, he retains the ball well, gives his teams fluidity, has great distribution, and plays with a maturity that defy s his tender age.
If Liverpool sign him, it will be a move in the right direction.
I'm afraid replacing Harry with AVB, will almost certainly not

So AVB is a footballing illiterate at 35

Allen is a great young talent at 22

Well AVB has achieved things , Allen has not so prehaps a less biased view is required

Fred

We got our money back on Crouch, an could get another 2 million from it.

Have fun trying to get 35 million for Carroll

=========================

If you want to play the ball side-to-side across the half way line, then Joe Allen is your man. Other than that, he is sluggish on the ball, he takes time to switch feet, he turns backwards rather than forwards (& i'm aware that Parker does 360's too), he's just a very ordinary predictable player.

He had an "okay" season with the rest of the Swansea guys, but Liverpool fans should not be accepting him as your level, if your club is as big, beautiful & as succesful as you tell us you are / going to be.

Emlyn Hughes will be turning in his grave at the thought of players like this touching the "You'll Never Walk Alone" sign on their way to the pitch.

No apparently about it Fred. 150 comments seperated by you biting endlessly, pretty much ends any argument.

Except that they're not. Either that or the rest of your players are so terrible they dragged you down to your lowest points tally for 20 years

Yeah...a bad buy ...whats your point?

Try:

£35m Carroll
£20m Downing
£18m Henderson
£15m Allen
£7.5m Adam
£17m Johnson

posted on 9/8/12

£15m for Joe Allen! He`s worth no where near that! He will never be a top player, an average PL at best is all he will ever be.

And posters on here keep telling us Modric is not worth £35m - £40m, Modric is at least twice the player Joe Allen is.

Good news for the rest of the PL if this is the level of player Liverpool are signing, it means they will be stuck in mid table mediocrity for a good time yet.

Gerrard and Johnson

Rated by nobody other than pool fans. Even Portsmouth were happy to see the back of Johnson.

I forgot they paid that much for Johnson.. huge wages too... didn't we pay something like 5m for Walker?

1 Champions League appearance and Spurs think they're a big club.

Then the funniest part is they think AVB is a good manager

Exactly. So the next time we're all depressed at not getting new signings, just think of Liverpool signing Joe Allen for £15m.

No, the funniest part is your team is full of overpriced failures and you can't admit it so you change the subject

What's Rodgers won, and compare that to AVB

All the Spurs fans wanted Buck before he came to Liverpool and now they think the man who flopped drastically at Chelsea will bring them success

Good luck with that.

Liverpool were a big club....... once.

They are not known as Historypool for nothing.

Their hoards of 70`s and 80`s glory bandwagon supporters cant accept they are now a mid table club.
