In what world can Joe Allen cost £15m when Fabregas cost £25?

Merely pointing out that during some pretty turbulent times we've won something. Whilst during that time you haven't and going into a new campaign are no better off IMO.

How are we no better off

we have new 56000 stadium on the way
Best squad in yrs
New young vibrant manager
Dont have a load of players in the squad that we paid over the odds for

How long can your club carry on spending millions on Rubbish

Before it all gets too daft

Siggurdssons transfer took as long as it did because his agent was waiting to see if Liverpool stumped up the extra cash, if we did he'd be at Liverpool. That's all there is to say on that transfer. If he wanted to be at Spurs all along he'd have signed within 24 hours.

Brendan Rodgers, who knows the player far better than anyone else in England decided he wasn't worth it.

But after working with Joe Allen (what a performer he was for team GB too) decides that he is worth it.

Does it sound like Brendan Rodgers throws money around? No it doesn't.

Thereby we shall have to leave it to Brendan Rodgers superior knowledge when it comes to these players.

After all, we are just fans that have no real experience of professional football clubs and their signing of players.

By the way Shelvey > Siggurdsson and Shelveys only 20 years old!

DTKF,

Nope a slightly better footballer we'd all agree, Ferenc Puskas. Old man's favourite player, watched him play a charity match in Liverpool with Billy Liddell in the late 60's. Kind of became a hero of my own although I didn't see him....

Weare,

Point stands, your best team in years as you say, done nothing of note really, see you in the Europa.

The most funny thing i keep hearing when Liverpool fans talk about Brendan rogers is...

" he talks a great press confrence and says the right things"

then he should be a politician then if he's that good. The fact is Brendan Rogers has done nothing in his career of note apart from get Swansea to midtable and play some good football, wow!!! Atleast AVB has had success with a club and has top european pedigree.

And yet you're perfectly happy to make assumptions about why Sigurdsson chose spurs, and Rodger's opinions of both players

Shelvy > Sigurdsson? wum

Liverpool fans are so deluded it is unreal

I assumed it was a lazy wum attempt Don.. he can't be serious

Bales left foot, he's a liverpool fan mate. You can bet he is serious

It's funny how when Liverpool were being linked with Rodgers a lot of fans were saying he's not good enough for a club like Liverpool and they need Jose or Pep, or someone of that calibre.

Now they've got him he's an expert on technical football because he's been to a few of Spain's training sessions, and therefore his judgement will clearly be correct.

Juande Ramos is an example of a man whom clearly had a good grasp of technical football and look how that worked out.

It's a safe assumption, if he really wanted to go to Spurs over Liverpool no matter what, he would have signed without a delay. You all know that.

Yup in the game where Shelvey came up v Siggurdsson in the Liverpool v Spurs game, despite Liverpool being far from full strength Shelvey outshone Sigurdsson.

Poor spurs.

redinthehead, sigurdsson rejected you mate, get over it. Stop trying to make pathetic excuses like you're manager. He didn't want to play for Liverpool and felt spurs were the better option and who could blame him. Sugurdsson last season > Shelvey last season....
