Tevez but no Sparky?

Macca

The guy is Wumming.

Either that or he really is a very stupid individual.

The question was, where does Wayne rank alongside the best forwards we have had at the club over the last 25 years. Not necessarily what they have done for us.

Therefore Tevez is a superior footballer to Wayne and I wouldn't put Hughes ahead of the five mentioned. If you would fair play, that's your opinion.

..................

Is he?

Rooney scores more goals and gets more assists.

In fact, John O'Shea got more assists than tevez in his last season with us, and Vidic scored more premier league goals.

Tevez is proabbly better at golf though.

Fat Frank scores more goals and gets more assists than Scholes ever did. There endeth that argument.

Rooney has far far more to his game than Tevez ever did.

A recent form dip will never change that

Oh and Sparky was way better than Tevez is in my opinion

Fat Frank played a differnt position to Scholes, in a toytally different formation.

Try again.

The point is stats don't make the better player and only an idiot would use them to try and win an argument.

I can't stand Tevez and even went as far as making a comment about hot water when he held up the RIP poster. Hand on heart he is a better footballer than Wayne tho. Yes I have been critical of Wayne these last few years and I find him frustrating but I would still have him in my top five.

As for Hughes. Really don't rate him that highly. Good player but would rather have Ole, Cole and a fit Saha Over him.

Out of interest Macca, list these attributes that Wayne has far more of.

And don't say long range passing. He just does that alot. They're never that accurate and the wide man always has to move back to get it.

If I am an idiot then so are you VC, considering you used stats to try and win your argument.

I take it you list long range passing as one of Waynes strengths? Hilarious. Let me guess another one. Heading by any chance ? That just leaves commitment.

Rooney is a proven goalscorer at every level and is a very important player for United.
As for the top five players; very subjective, but I'd have Sparky in there!

You would have to be a cretin to list it as a weakness.

Over to you.

Have you ever watched Wayne warm up before a game?

I told my 2 kids at a game last season to watch Wayne warming up. He was hitting fifty yard balls onto a sixepence with forst his right foot, then his left, then his right. Both my kids were in awe watching him do it.

Wayne has better vision than Tevez, his movement is more intelligent, his passing is far far better (Recent history aside), in the box without the ball his movement is exceptional, His heading is better and he doesn't fek off playing golf for 6 months because his manager wanted him to play the last few minutes of a game.

I think you are mixing up a form/fitness dip with total loss of quality.

Macca I think your hatred for Tevez is clouding your judgement.

Wayne definitely is capable of the long pass and it's a big part of his game these days so i wouldn't say it wasn't a strength. However, there are two players in our first eleven better than him at it. Not to mention the rest of the country. People throw it up as some mystical power but it's not unique to him and he relies on it too much these days. What happened to the explosive pace, the ability to beat a man, the rockets from outside the box.

Macca

I wouldn't bother trying to reason with this idiot.

Same old VC, has no comeback to a reasoned opinion.

Anyway, how is this a Wayne bashing topic when he is in my top five?

It's easy, just take Tevez out of the top 5 and put Hughes in there!

We are comparing Rooney to just Tevez though.

Are your saying Tevez hots a 50 yard pass consistantly better than Rooney?

You really see Tevez as a dribbler?

His blistering pace will not have deserted him at his age, it's down to fitness and nothing more

Towards the end of last season, Rooney's body language did not look right to me. Me and a couple of fellow reds were wondering if he had someone whispering in hi ear again at one point, From memory, I think he still hit 14 goals in his last 14 games despite this?

Oh my hatred of Tevez does not cloud my judgment on Tevez. He is a quality player when he can be bothered but no way does he have the overall game that Wayne does for me. Sorry

There really is little point trying to reason with an idiot.

And anyone who has Tevez in the top five United strikers in the last 25 years really is an idiot.

Or a WUM. And you keep telling us you are not a WUM.

posted on 23/8/12

I think and always have thought that both have similar games and as for dribbling Tevez is very good at this and currently beats Wayne hands down in this area because Wayne doesn't do it anymore.

Your right tho, there is something wrong with Wayne because you don't just lose the talent and pace he had three years ago.

anyway Wayne is the better long passer, funny enough I think he is quicker too. also a better header of the ball. For me Tevez has the better long shot and finish, he has the better control, link up play and technique as well. The frustrating thing is Wayne could be as good or better. Its just gone for some reason. and i am talking the last few years not the mass hysteria reaction of one game.

Read the article. It's not the top united forwards of last twenty five years. labouring under a misapprehension againVC.
