Oh ok, for a minute i thought you were making a constructive argument, too bad

Not that you iniesta fan girls would know what that is when you rate a player that you have no idea what his role is

So would you say Iniesta is world class doing the same role as Leon Britton does?

----

Do you think Leon Britton serves no purpose for the Swans?

I like Iniesta.

I'll lay any money that the Iniesta-haters are dislikers of the Spain and Barca style, preferring the more direct football of Real and Germany for example. How's my aim there?

Spain have many midfielders that are capable of keeping possession AND doing something with it

Iniesta isn't one of those people

He serves a purpose just not one that makes him considered "the best midfielder on earth"

no hes saying iniesta does it much much better thats what makes him wc, for example di mario and dowing are both left wingers their "roles" are to beat a man get crosses in to create chances its just one does this much better than the other,

Not difficult.

Yet he is a "pub player" by your descripition. What does that say about us and pretty much every other team in the Premiership?

But there isn't a quantifier on how well you keep possession

you can either do it, or not

AFL Big Poppa, against Osasuna he looked a pub player. It doesn't make him one.

Iniesta plays for the best club team in the world, and his national side have dominated world football throughout his prime years. He's a vital component of both those team's beacuse he's the prototype of a player who knows how to keep posession intelligently. I don't know if that makes him the est midfielder in the world, but if you consider Spain and Barca to have redefined total football as I do, then you'd realise just how good a player Iniesta is.

Hazard actually does something beneficial for his team though

No he didn't look a pub player and nobody is calling Hazard the best midfielder of his generation are they

Hazard is a pub player tbf.
Extremely overhyped.

If you watch his game carefully 4 of his assists were scoffs.

He's still a very good player. One that would stroll into most teams.

Perhaps he is overrated, but it can be understood.

a vital component

but he's not they have loads of midfielders to pick from who can do that role and more it's just his reputation that gets him picked

So I guess that you wouldn't take
Iniesta in the Arsenal midfield?
The guy is better than all of our
midfielders.
-------

Iniesta is probably the most undroppable midfielder for Spain. Del Bosque and Aragones must also be victims of this hype while experts like Batmanu can see through the media orchestrate hype.

when hazard comes up against a decent team, hell get a shock, hes come up against 2 relegation favorites and a very very off toon team

posted on 26/8/12

Iniesta has a near perfect first touch, outstanding pass accuracy and ball retention skills, ability to find space in midfield, great dribbling ability, quick and intelligent decision-making.

In a system with a holding player and at least one other midfielder, his skills make him a dream come true for possession football.

For me his lack of creativity and consistent goal-threat is a weakness but overall he's a great player. His role in the Barca team is simply to help the team retain possession and provide something extra when he can (i.e. key passes, goals and assists).

All these Iniesta haters are just closet Barça fans who resent him being Castillian.
