Romero cost us a goal at Leicester and was guilty of not getting back for their first goal today.

Will Ange drop him for Drag ?

----------------------------------------------------------------------
For once our defence wasn't really the issue today. I thought both Drag and Romero had some good moments in the match. Our attack let us down. The stats say it all.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

We let in 2 goals. That's an issue, no matter what way we dress it up.

Yeah I agree, Son had about 10 1v1 opportunities and we didnt score once from it. Had Saka been given 10 1v1 opportunities Arsenal would have had 4 goals, its the difference really. We just really need Odebert to become top class instantly.

It's not the story of the game though is it, like it usually is. We dominated and were camped in their half getting into good positions for 80% of that match and yet scored once via an own goal. We were bound to concede just from not taking our own chances.

I just feel our margin for error is is too small and that systematic. The players will start losing faith in the system because of it too. If a player fall short on a press in midfield for example, a player gets time on the ball, they can look up and playing a ball through the acres of space we leave in behind.

I do feel like we are a slightly better Leeds United, in that we look good for the most part but you expect goals against frequently. Looking like a 6th-8th position again. Hopefully teams aren't so savvy against us in Europe!

Ange already said some of our players and even his staff don’t buy into his system!

It’s almost like we needed to go out and buy a really good wide forward of proven quality.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We signed Solanke and both he and Rich are out injured which is a bit unlucky when you see how this game turned out, but yeah the quality from those wide positions isn't really good enough. Odobert is young so deserves time. Kulu works hard but is lacking in real quality in important attacking moments. Gone backwards ever since his first season with us. BJ does well as a sub. Werner is never going to amount to anything above average.

We are too easy to score against
We find it too hard to score goals for all the possession we have
Therefore we will concede a lot of goals and score less
Therefore we will lose a lot of games
Therefore it will cost Ange his job

Bound to concede due to not taking chances? wtf.

I don't get that theory if I'm honest.

Dont concede but take one chance = winning.

Does anyone even know what his actual system is apart from a high line and full backs inverting into CAM? Does he even know? What does he have as a system for defending?

Not sure even he knows

I mean we know what Spurs are like. They have a period of dominance and when we don't make the most of it it comes back to haunt them because, yes our defence isn't perfect. But the game was about us not winning today through having all that attacking possession and failing to build on it. That was the real issue. If we had anything about us the game would have been comfortably over and done with.

I couldn't disagree more. We didn't win because we let in 2 poor goals when not conceding too many chances.. We scored 1 goal which could be enough to win a game. Conceding 2 goals will often lose you games.

Ange seems to to be all about attack yet can't coach a side to score goals. He then neglects the defensive side and his side let's in goals for fun, even when we don't give away too many chances.

His way won't work, I guarantee. That said, I genuinely don't think any manager could make us work.

We are a shet club to support. Hate supporting. This club at times to be honest. We are a joke.

I think everyone appears to have a strange perception of how that game went. Yes we controlled possession but do you remember multiple guilt-edge chances? Pound for pound I’d say they had more than we did. Also, that was their game plan. They allowed us to have the ball rather than it being anything to do with us being superior.

posted on 1/9/24

Someone else said it, we didn’t have the chances but the ball before the chances was poor. We had plenty of 3 on 3’s for instance.
