Isn't a red and a pen way too harsh? Completely ruined the game as a spectacle.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If that was kompany on ade I'd want him sent off
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes because that's the law, but is the law wrong?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Makes no odds Kent. Tis the law of the game.
As you say it ruins the game that fans have forked out a load to see
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Why dont you look at things a different way and ask yourself a few questions, then answer them honestly.
Were city a better side than us tonight?
Did we deserve to win or draw tonight?
Did the better team on the night win the game?
If a burglar burgled your house and no proof could be found against him would you be distressed if he went to prison for a crime he never committed?
The better team won on the night and I personally think they would have won with or without the two controversial decisions so what odds does it make?

No for me it's right.
If the tackle was outside the box and last defender takes him out the all would get is a free kick.
Can't have two laws for inside and outside the box

Might be right for things like the Suarez red card vs Ghana etc where a player has made an attempt to deliberately cheat. Attempts to make a fair challenge could be a yellow.
grand :
Agree that the linesman should zip it.
"The Law is for STOPPING a goal or goal scoring opportunity not for ATTEMPTING to stop a goal or a goal scoring opportunity."
If the attempt is deliberate cheating, IMHO the law should make the goal stand and then issue the .

For me: bring in the TV ref for reviews like rugby and cricket. Would at least iron out a few wrong decisions

Tbf it still takes ages for them to make a decision which is still debatably wrong
Mighty
apart from the poor decisions, if they want to make life more difficult for asian syndicates then tv reviews have to be made available

Obviously you never watched football before that Law was introduced when every fan and pundit was campaigning for deliberate fouls stopping a goal scoring chance to be a red card offence

Were city a better side than us tonight?
Yes. 100%
Did we deserve to win or draw tonight?
No we didn't.
Did the better team on the night win the game?
Yes, they did.
No problems with being outplayed by a team. Sherwood imo got the tactics wrong tonight and we spent most of the first half admiring them.
Still doesn't excuse that the decisions were woeful.

9/10 they get it right! Adds a bit of excitement to the game, and bollox to those who say it evens out over a season. It doesn't. No penalties last season compared to 5 this season?? Bollox
Soldado...couldn't have said it better myself
Isn't it nice to debate without the wums interfering
