Pochettino was sacked with 14 points after 12 games. And we were playing sheit football.
It’s pretty pointless discussing what could’ve been.
Will always love Poch but lets move on.

No. He'd shown little sign of it. The form going into this season was facking shocking, too.
Still feel we wouldn't be any worse off than where we are now and we wouldn't have to endure 0 shots on target against relegation fodder. Would love for Mourinho to prove me wrong, two good wins in a row now but sorry still don't see it.

Given the state we were in when Jose took over Europa is definitely a win.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I would have fancied us to get Europa with Poch. We were only, was it 2 or 3 points off 5th place at the time?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Maybe. Who knows. It's also worth noting that we were playing terrible football even with Eriksen in the side.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's not as if we've been great under Mourinho to move us up the table. A bit of a bounce initially and then quickly back to performances as poor as under Poch. We should have been at least in the fight for top 4 up to the end of the season with Mourinho.
Anyway, let's see if this is now the start of a good run under him.

And I think that's recency bias. We had plenty of crap games under Poch losing to sides we had no right to.
We were 3 points off 5th when King Jose took over. Factor in the injuries to Kane, Son, Sissoko and Stevie B soon before Lockdown.
Also factor in the loser mentality the squad had inherited under Poch.

He is one for the future and currently playing with an injury. I feel next season he will be a don. Hope so anyway.
And where's the improvement in mentality? I see no difference in us at all from the Poch reign other than we show less attacking intent.
Needs better midfielders around him. In an ideal world Winks and Sissoko wouldn't start every game

Interesting. I think it’s very feasible and not a stretch at all to assume a manager like Poch could have got us to the 60 point mark - especially with the squad at his disposal. What you are suggesting is much more unprecedented, I can only think of Jose having that kind of collapse in the PL

Two goals in two games minutes after the opposition scored? That's a marked change.
I cant see why we keep harping back to Poch. Yes we had some good times but he wrecked things when he said he might resign if we won the CL.
Things were never the same after that and it showed on the pitch.
I am not happy with his replacement or the football we are playing but to keep trying to compare is a waste of time and energy.
We need to instill a bit of confidence into the players. Yeah playing nice football is nice but results will do that.

It's the only way to decide if we've improved or not under Jose. There's so much bias against the manager because people just don't like him, it's very hard to have a proper objective discussion on how he's doing.
How many times did we grab wins at the death under Poch? Plenty, everyone goes on about us being mentally weak and to a degree that's true but that stems from ownership down. Chairman/owner shows no ambition which stems down through the manager and on to the players.

This is true but you see us often get a good win and then be awful with a poor result next game back to back wins now though which is the big positive for me, away win too which we can't seem to buy this season
See: all the determined facking moaning after a NLD win and what should've been a 0-3 away win.
