Lo Celso would not get into the Spurs team of the last few years. Just cos he isn't dogcrap lets stop hyping him up
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He is one for the future and currently playing with an injury. I feel next season he will be a don. Hope so anyway.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Lo Celso is only a squad player for me. To lightweight, decent to bring on, but seriously needs upgrading. He may improve more, but he needs to offer more going forward with really key passes and goals. One assist and zero goals all season, is awful for a team that are looking to compete with the big boys. Winks just needs outing, surely Jose will upgrade on him.

I cant see why we keep harping back to Poch. Yes we had some good times but he wrecked things when he said he might resign if we won the CL.
Things were never the same after that and it showed on the pitch.
I am not happy with his replacement or the football we are playing but to keep trying to compare is a waste of time and energy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
At the time I was really upset with Poch being sacked, but after a month I did concede that I think it was probably the right choice.
If our ambition now, though, is shortermism for top 4 and a shot at the Europa - I don’t see what the point in sacking him is. Poch could have easily achieved that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Could he? We lost 1-0 to Newcastle at home under Poch.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We lost 1-0 to Southampton and were the first team not to register a shot on target for 5 years against Bournemouth. Still looks like we will achieve Europa - one of results really have little relevance.

How many times did we grab wins at the death under Poch? Plenty, everyone goes on about us being mentally weak and to a degree that's true but that stems from ownership down. Chairman/owner shows no ambition which stems down through the manager and on to the players.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

We lost semi finals exactly for the points I made. No ambition to improve the team from the owners, we didn't have the squad to push on all fronts. League/CL was always priority. Cup wins would have been a bonus. To challenge for cups and the league you need more than a good starting 11 so you can rotate the team allowing for players to be fresher for semi finals etc. Really not that hard to fathom that is it?

On this Aurier & sissoko would be out the door ASAP
Fortunately Jose came in, all be it three months to late, but at least he stopped the complete rot that was setting in.
There is a reason Jose won lots of trophies, and our previous manager won none, one of them is actually rather good at winning when it really matters.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes stopped the rot by getting knocked out of the FA Cup by Norwich. A trophy we stood a chance of winning.
Jose won a lot of things in the past but football has changed and his boring defensive style is no longer the answer he will win noting at Spurs and then you and Don will blame Levy.
Like it or not plenty of games this season under jose we have faced teams that were not as good as us and lost or drew.
Yes poch had to go but to bring in jose was pure stupidity in my eyes

That is the problem, you need to be ruthless at a club, if you really want to win things. Make big decisions
-------------------------------------------------------
I agree and a big correct ruthless decision would be to sack the most boring manager we have had in years and bring in somebody who wants to win and entertain
From sandys article rating our new players
“ Lo Celso to me has been our best buy, I will hold my hands up to getting that one wrong, didn`t think he would make it, but he looks a real classy players”

I never said anything of the sort of football we were playing or the results we were getting. I have been saying throughout, that a manager as talented as Poch, with the squad at our disposal - could have got us 60 points. It’s not much of an achievement, Tim Sherwood managed it.
We had good and bad results under both managers

A lot of the players have been on easy street for a long time before Jose arrived. Jose will mould his own team, and has to be given longer than six months. Although lots on the board didn`t give him six days.
Surely even Mourinho supporters can see what a toxic presence he is at the club, considering the tone of the discussion on here even after 2 straight wins.

All you are doing is looking for excuses. If Poch had more nouse he would have got us over the line with the array of talent we had. When you had a spine of Toby, Jan, Dembele and Kane with Son, Dele, peak Rose and so on he should have won something.
Blaming the owners is for cowards. There have been teams that have won league/fa cups with lesser players.

He may improve more, but he needs to offer more going forward with really key passes and goals. One assist and zero goals all season, is awful for a team that are looking to compete with the big boys. Winks just needs outing, surely Jose will upgrade on him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Give GLC time. Winks is the squad player you are talking about and stop shifting the topic LOL
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We cannot afford to keep giving players time, he has been at the club for nearly a whole season now. That is the problem, you need to be ruthless at a club, if you really want to win things. Make big decisions. Don`t just keep playing players, and say see how it goes. That is a losers mentality.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
thought we had to give jose time though, why not the players?

Giovani Lo Celso (24) v Newcastle United
60 Touches
95% Pass accuracy
2 Key passes
100% Dribble success
1 Assist
Another quality performance from the Argentine.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Lo Celso would not get into the Spurs team of the last few years. Just cos he isn't dogcrap lets stop hyping him up
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He is one for the future and currently playing with an injury. I feel next season he will be a don. Hope so anyway.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
You're right, they don't. Though I would point to a 7-2 demolishing by Bayern and a 3-0 defeat to Brighton. Are we ignoring the rubbish football we were playing at the time though?

This is actually getting silly now, Spurs fans defending our manager from other Spurs fans after wins.

To be honest mate, the one`s with the agenda against the manager are a complete embarrassment. I mean who wouldn`t want the team under Jose to do well?

I agree and a big correct ruthless decision would be to sack the most boring manager we have had in years and bring in somebody who wants to win and entertain

“ Lo Celso to me has been our best buy, I will hold my hands up to getting that one wrong, didn`t think he would make it, but he looks a real classy players”

Spurs never won a final under the previous manager.

I never said anything of the sort of football we were playing or the results we were getting. I have been saying throughout, that a manager as talented as Poch, with the squad at our disposal - could have got us 60 points. It’s not much of an achievement, Tim Sherwood managed it.

it is perhaps hard to have the objective debate you were looking for when you get upset about people criticizing the manager just because we won the game

How many times did we grab wins at the death under Poch? Plenty, everyone goes on about us being mentally weak and to a degree that's true but that stems from ownership down. Chairman/owner shows no ambition which stems down through the manager and on to the players.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Remind me. How many semi finals did we lose? How many trophies did we win. Nadder. Forget him now amd back JM.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Owners don't play in semi finals. Stop trying to shift the blame.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't expect you to get it and see the bigger picture, you do come across as intellectually challenged.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I would beat you at countdown you roadman.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Thanks for proving my point so swiftly.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
All you are doing is looking for excuses.
