How many times did we grab wins at the death under Poch? Plenty, everyone goes on about us being mentally weak and to a degree that's true but that stems from ownership down. Chairman/owner shows no ambition which stems down through the manager and on to the players.

Remind me. How many semi finals did we lose? How many trophies did we win. Nadder. Forget him now amd back JM.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
He is one for the future and currently playing with an injury. I feel next season he will be a don. Hope so anyway.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Lo Celso is only a squad player for me. To lightweight, decent to bring on, but seriously needs upgrading. He may improve more, but he needs to offer more going forward with really key passes and goals. One assist and zero goals all season, is awful for a team that are looking to compete with the big boys. Winks just needs outing, surely Jose will upgrade on him.

I cant see why we keep harping back to Poch. Yes we had some good times but he wrecked things when he said he might resign if we won the CL.
Things were never the same after that and it showed on the pitch.
I am not happy with his replacement or the football we are playing but to keep trying to compare is a waste of time and energy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Agree with this. I do not want Mourinho and prob would have Poch over him. But Poch's time was up

At the time I was really upset with Poch being sacked, but after a month I did concede that I think it was probably the right choice.
If our ambition now, though, is shortermism for top 4 and a shot at the Europa - I don’t see what the point in sacking him is. Poch could have easily achieved that.
It's the only way to decide if we've improved or not under Jose. There's so much bias against the manager because people just don't like him, it's very hard to have a proper objective discussion on how he's doing.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Its not difficult to have a conversation on how he is doing at all. Watch us play its that simple.
We are boring, turgid, defensive and thoroughly depressing. Poch at his best had every neutral in the country wanting to watch us, jose has got to the point where half our fans DONT even want to watch us.
Its not all joses fault no but his style of football will never be accepted by the majority of fans even if he wins more than he loses because its so damned boring and negative.

We lost semi finals exactly for the points I made. No ambition to improve the team from the owners, we didn't have the squad to push on all fronts. League/CL was always priority. Cup wins would have been a bonus. To challenge for cups and the league you need more than a good starting 11 so you can rotate the team allowing for players to be fresher for semi finals etc. Really not that hard to fathom that is it?

Spurs would not have got Europa under Poch, they were going backwards alarmingly, they had not won away for months, were losing to Newcastle at home, getting smashed by the likes of Brighton. If was basically a follow up from the poor form of last season.
Fortunately Jose came in, all be it three months to late, but at least he stopped the complete rot that was setting in.
There is a reason Jose won lots of trophies, and our previous manager won none, one of them is actually rather good at winning when it really matters.
This is actually getting silly now, Spurs fans defending our manager from other Spurs fans after wins.

At the time I was really upset with Poch being sacked, but after a month I did concede that I think it was probably the right choice.
If our ambition now, though, is shortermism for top 4 and a shot at the Europa - I don’t see what the point in sacking him is. Poch could have easily achieved that.
