He’s much more defensively able than winks or Ndombele.

Winks or Ndombele need Højbjerg next to them

Winks is terrible for that. Like him and hes a tidy player but he is so bad defensively, just needlessly hacks people down everytime.
Harsh on Ndom though think he has improved massively in that regard but yeah need someone with more of a defensive instinct alongside him

Villa game won’t be a gimmi, very difficult team to break down and cause problems going forward.

Hopefully Grealish will still be out.

think given the level of opposition i'd rather have someone better in possession than someone better defensively

Zagreb are pretty decent. Much better than any opposition we’ve come up against so far

I'm sure they're respectable but sissoko has only been useful in games where we've had 10% possession and camped up in our own penalty box

Probably will be how this one pans out too tbf

Ideally it wouldn’t be Sissoko but someone like Skipp but this is the hand we have been dealt.

Maybe Dier can have a renaissance for a game there

Think PEH was average tbh buy made some good interceptions.

Winks was decent in ball possession but he’s awful defensively.

Yeh I thought they countered eachother well. PEH was misplacing a lot of passes but did a great job defensively and Winks was a bit of a passenger defensively but really strong in possession

Really strong in possession? I can't remember him doing anything special. He broke the press once and immediately passed it back to a Toby.

He's averaging about 7 and a half per game which is the 10th best in the League this season - like Hengy said he's terrible defensively and will never offer much In the final third but he's a great zone mover tbf to him.

That's a good stat. Though I think at this stage most can see he's a water carrier. According to whoscored at least he's made 639 PL appearances and 0 assists. None.

I'm not trying to hate on him, he's not an awful footballer, but just like people don't want to get carried away even though we've won 3 games convincingly, I don't want to get carried away with a player who looked alright against Palace.

Our teams pass completion % increased at the end of the game when it was won and we saw the game out. Pass completion % doesn’t mean a lot though my comment was more that PEH’s passing often seemed behind the player or to the wrong option - even though he was ok.

In the build up to one of our chances - I forget which, PEH had really sold Winks short who had done admirably to get himself out of a tight situation
