Is this the real reason Fergie changed his mind about retiring? Surely we can't blow a 346 point lead? Only Keegan's Newcastle could do that! Especially as the world is supposed to end this year, isn't it?

You average less points a season tho

Interesting article but I'm guessing Liverpool and Everton would happily swap their positions on this table for some of the success City and Chelsea have had recently

I'm guessing this league doesn't take into account United from 1888-1902 when we were Newton Heath. Fair play to Liverpool for being on top but I think that is largely due to the fact United didn't enter the league as Manchester United until 1902, 14 years after the beginning of the league.

Someone doesn't remember the days of 2 points for a win

yes but teams that have only ever finished 2nd could rank very highly on this table, being considered more successful than teams who have won trophies or actually won the league on few occasions . Honestly we are all turning into baseball fans with our obsession over stats these days

Does it take into account the age of a club? For example a club like Totthenham, founded in 1882 with a 23 year head start over a team like Chelsea would surely expect to be further ahead of a team formed in 1905 considering how much better than us they think they are.

Galvin, it refers only to games and results overtime, keep up son, should be simple enough even for you.
