I still would say Gerrard, Lampard is good too, but usually goes for power, Gerrard has some placement.

Who cares so long as it goes in?

Placement means hes less likely to miss them rather than hit and hoping. Any numbskull can just strike a ball.

Its the way they took them that counts. I hate blasters.

Eric just rolled them into the corners. Remember the Cup Final vs Chelsea.

Just a thought, maybe its me, but are penalties being missed more now than they ever did?

I didn't know there was a criteria...

Baines is a good shout

Hasselbaink has the best penalty of a one-step run up.

Somehow he'd take a one step run up and manage to absolute blast the ball into the top corner each time.

I never saw Cantona- he was quite some way before my time. Only seen grainy highlights of his best goals.

It has to be Lampard for the penalties he's scored in big games.
Fair enough he missed in 2006 but he's scored them for Chelsea in big CL semis and the CL final.

I always feel that he'll score them and the one he scored after his mother died in 2008 was very emotional and one I was glad he converted.

He is probably the best penalty taker in England at the moment.

I like blasters. Much better to miss through blasting than tamely passing it to the goalie ashley cole style vs Italy.

The best 'penatly' I have seen in a pressure moment (and being a chelsea fan of course I am a bit biased) is David Luiz's vs Bayern Munich.

He did a massive run up and I swear every fan thought he would sky it, and he just placed it, with power, right into the top corner.

Thats why Shearer was the best and probably Lamps is the best today.

I still prefer the cool rolling penalties into the corner. Its about picking the right corner at the right time.

Neymar's fail penality was quite funny.

Anyone seen the overhead kick penalty?

VDV was good , Adebayor is also surprisingly good at them

Anyone see Totti's reverse penalty. Granted only in training but still pretty good.

And the ultimate fail of all time when Henry tried to pass it to Pires and totally missed it!

Who remembers Pires and Henry's failure?

They asked Henry who's idea it was after the game, he said it was mine but i didnt plan for Pires to do what he did!
