Oh no... How I feel for United... I'm sure you'll be rewarded a further 10-12 unjust pens this season like you do every year.

Wow. That was uncalled for.

Hoody sadly I can't open up the link at work.

Which Ronaldo? Although our Ronaldo had a good record, he missed a few when it mattered, especially in big games.

I can only remember Murphy ever missing one in his career and I think he scored the rebound.

Don't think he ever missed one for either Liverpool or Fulham

How? You get given every decision under the sun, yet have the audasity to complain that you've missed 3 pens

Charlie Adam...he might miss by a mile but at least he hits it hard enough that someone gets to go home with a match ball

shearer or lampard. no question

England always have great penalty takers but I see two problems. Firstly they always seem to let defenders take penalties and more importantly once there are doubts in the takers minds, after previous heartbreaks then players are going to miss.

When taking a penalty you have to have no doubt whatsoever you make up your mind and you have to KNOW you're going to score. It takes you to be arrogant to be a good penalty taker. Perhaps why I was always good at them, despite being a defender.

pretty sure gerrard didn't take one in 2005 champions league final?

Gerrard has missed several penalties.

He is a good taker generally, but not as good as Le Tissier was.

It always amazes me why Fernando Torres never takes penalties. The guy is supposed to be a goalscorer. That probably highlights the flaw in his personality that has caused his decline (alongside injury obviously).

To me whoever your main goalscorer is should be the ones stepping up. If they don't have the confidence to take a penalty, how the hell are they going to score one on ones?

Gerrard was 5th and unused pen taker in champs final in 2005

Torres used to be Atletico's pen taker.

But Gerrard took them for Liverpool, and now at Chelsea there is Lampard, plus Hazard, Luiz, Cole, Marin who all take great penalties plus Mata is a decent taker too.

I know Alonso missed the one in normal time, did he not take one in the shootout?

Le Tissier was the best penalty take I have ever seen. Cantona was a close second.

Le Tissier scored 46 out of 47.

Gerrard has missed four penalties in his career.

Alsono did miss one in normal time on 2005 but scored of the rebound.

What has that got to do with anything? This article is about the best penalty takers not how many decisions we get.

A very bitter Tottenham fan. I take it that you are still upset with Gomes's blunder when Nani scored that goal
