What has happened to SAF

Maybe because he only has a couple of years left, and he wants to win more trophies in his last years like any normal manager would.

If that's true.....i will certainly be very very dissapointed.
Also, how can anyone see us winning any big trophies this season.
Last 3 games have certainly opened my eyes....

then he seriously needs to change what he's doing if thats the case.

Why's that? we haven't started too badly, third in the table, wins in the league cup and champions league. Man Utd are notoriously slow starters also.

I think he meant selecting Giggs and Scholes in the middle of the park. A tactic that consistently fails to produce results.

We have the players to win the league and I think something else, but I have no clue what he's doing with Giggs and scholes,
But it's seriously holding us back

He will walk away next summer win or lose and Pep will replace him. The greatest manager ever who it seems even his powers are waning. Some strange decisions, tactics, buys. I personally think we have the wrong number 2 and there lies the crux of the problem. CQ never been replaced. SAF no longer as ruthless and even more loyal to his oldest troops!!

We can all see it and fans questioning Fergie get shot down but he's right.

It's suicide to play Scholes and Giggs together from the start.

Scholes Tackling coach

You're right to have faith. If Anderson and Cleverley hadn't been so injured and messed up their development for the past few years then they'd be playing now but sadly they were.
Scholes retired but when Cleverson got injured again he came out of retirement and proved that once again, he was the best we have.

That's not to say that Sir Alex is infallible, he should have bought someone like Dembele to come in but he didn't and we have to carry on with what we have which to be fair isn't that bad.
We are the top scorers in the league and are doing well in the cups. We're ahead of City and their super midfield so we must be doing something right

There is a difference between starting slow and starting without any determination/conviction/work rate etc.
Top 4 players are fine, we have scored the most goals but the midfield and defense has just not been at the races.
It's such a good chance for Rio to prove his ability to SAF/RH in the absence of other defenders but just like Keane once said...he plays well against Liverpool but just bends backwards against Spurs at home for god's sakes. I don't blame Scholsey and Giggs as it is clearly not their fault that the manager is choosing them, Carrick certainly has started the season in abysmal form....

weve lost two games in the league already, and quite easily could have dropped points against fulham. saints and liverpool.

add the CL game against galatasary as a fortunate result too.

dont let the results mask the fact the performances havent been there this season.

at some point our luck is going to run out, and the games we are scraping wins from, will turn into draws or defeats.

Apart from the Tottenham game what were the other games that both Giggs and Scholes started in midfield?

SAF has always dropped selection and signings wise. Bellion/Djemba Djemba/Kleberson?

Dunc

Again, why so negative? Our luck DID run out on Saturday. It's just as likely that our 'luck will run out' as it is that we'll start to click and hammer a team.

oops that meant to say dropped clangers

again, why so positive?

I think it's unfair to just put it down to luck, Fergie has been doing that for nigh on a millenia. The inclusion of Scholes for example turned the game around against Soton and Liverpool.

What's wrong with being positive?

I believe United will win the title this year.

both played the second half, in a game where we were struggling against ten men!

ok but that wasn't the question I was asking, it sounds as if Fergie has only started Giggs and Scholes in one game and to criticise him after one game is unfair imo, maybe if he plays it against Newcastle and we lose again we should start worrying. And in regards to the second half when both of them played, we won the game so maybe that's why he played them again, makes sense.

Don't get me wrong it's great to be optimistic, but for me it feels as though we are living in the past.

We needed to move forward this summer, and finally retire Giggs and replace Scholes.

The longer they carry on playing the worse for the club, and I don't mean anything to either of them of course they are going to play when selected. But at their age they are too old

Scholes can still do a great job, but not for 90 certainly not often anyway.

Giggs shouldn't be playing anymore.

Haha Dunc

I guess your negativity cancels out my positivity and vice versa
