I was streaming it off an Eastern European site. I haven't a clue what their commentators where on about.

he handballed it, clear as day.

What's wrong with handballing? Players do it every match and I can't remember any of them apologising.

He gained from a wrong decision - acknowledge it like fowler did.
=====================================
The manager already has, and if you asked any Liverpool fan whether we gained from that decision, they would also admit that we did.

If you want someone to apologise I'd have a look at the ref. we have been the victims of many poor decisions over the season so far, it's a case of accepting the ref decision or bringing TV replays into the equasion.

so it acceptable to complain when you dont get a decision but not acknowledge when you get a lucky one going for you?

Maybe Mansfield could apologise for purposely training on a cut up pitch, the day before a big game, in order to make it even harder to play football on.
Lets all apologise.

As I said earlier, Brendan Rodgers already has.

perfect chance for Suarez himself to gain some respect here, build bridges.

Could it be the officials fault?

The FA have again managed to put the blame on Suarez.....is there no end to their evil genius!

Does rodgers have to take suarez to the toliet when he needs to pee pee? Grown man should take it upon himself.

I used to have to go to Mansfield quite a bit in my old job as I had a few accounts up there. It's a miserable, dismal, concrete hell hole that even made Stoke look like St Tropez. Mansfield should apologise for being Mansfield.

While hes at it, maybe Luis could apologize for the recent flooding, the recession, Norovirus, and the removal of the cardboard structure that used to hold Bounty bars in place.

I love comments like this. In fact, this might be my favourite type of comment.

I think we have a culture in this country of giving out apologies which are not really genuine.

Do I feel sorry for Mansfield? No. Does Suarez? Unlikely.

We got the rub of the green that much is true, but it's not worthy of an ungenuine apology.

Sorry ARE but you are wrong

Players cheat often but rarely see them come out to apologise. There's no point when it's already been done. It's actually the officials that should be apologising for failing to do their job properly.

Saying what i said it was still a handball all day but no need to witch hunt the poor fella

an acknowledgement would do his reputation no harm

Yeah, Suarez just needs to hold his hands up and… oh, wait…

nothing wrong with saying that shouldnt have stood. It does happen from time to time.

Whenever we've had decisions go against us we've been told to man up. Now decisions are going for us there seems to be quite a bit of hand wringing going on. Batmanu was crying his cotton socks off before.

True but that's not really apologising.. It's sort of criticising officials for bad decision.

Do you think after today the Liverpool team will feel compelled to wear Suarez tee shirts on sunday.

posted on 6/1/13

Right, so just to make sure I have this right, Suarez accidentley handles the ball, then smashes it into the net, the referee either doesn't spot it, or doesn't deem it to be deliberate, awards the goal, our manager acknowledges that we had a bit of luck, but you want Suarez to go in front of the camera, and say, sorry the ref made a mistake, and we gained an advantage from it ?

posted on 6/1/13

i know what you are saying Tax dodger. I just feel this is a great chance for suarez himself to try and regain his reputation. Fowler begged for a pen not to be given and it didnt change the ref decision. He received great credit as has Di Canio (picking ball up) and Arsenal (kanu goal), just think suarez could benefit from doing the same.

Maybe not to the degree that united fans feel compelled to jump on any article that has the word Suarez in it.
