Lawell can only mean that he thinks Celtic have either higher or lower standards than Rangers.
-----------
I would suggest that, factually we do have differing standards based purely on circumstance....
While we both aspire to be "the best" , the best that rangers can achieve is the SFL division 3 title, Celtic are going for the SPL title and as high a spot in Europe as possible.
I would think that the basic target for The Rangers FC Ltd is to be a self sustaining company, not reliant on debt or share issue. Again not a slight, but a fact for any company so young. Celtic would aim to have profit, little debt and a strong shareholder value as any legacy company would expect.
The standards to set are therefore hugely different.
Aye fair enough
Still dont think he meant anything by it
and it wasn't really a dig was it,not like what Greenie has been dishing out to our club since he took over the gers.
Timinator
That's my point - he didn't need to say it. Same as saying "different values" but in my opinion they are thinly veiled digs at Rangers. The same as the recent "125 years of unbroken history".
And the reason he does it, is that despite all his protests otherwise, a huge portion of his support still care about the rivalry associated with the old firm and his club can profit off this.
125 years of unbroken history
nothing wrong with pointing a fact.
nothing wrong with pointing a fact.

aboslutely not but then it is a strange number to make a big song and dance about. will there be similar celebrations for 135 yrs as well
Why say that?
Did they use "100 years of unbroken history" as a slogan at Celtics centenary?
No?
Exactly.
A thinly disguised dig at rangers designed to appeal to the fans.
Whatever it was for it worked,it was the time we pumped Barcelona
125 anniversary
Well played Lawwell.
not everythings all about Rangers btw, despite how much you hate the man,he has actually kept his cards close to his chest the whole time, but i understand yer anger,he is doing a great job for the champions.
maybe not you personally PB,but for quite a lot of your support.
Maybe you just have a slight dislike for him PB,if that makes you feel better.
Nah, it's bull...just a childish comment with no basis in fact because you haven't got an answer.
as i have previously mentioned timi i have no beef with lawell, i think he is a fantastic CEO. tbh im surprised an EPL club haven't poached him
An answer for what PB,i haven't avoided any questions..
We celebrated our centenery year by winning the title and celebrated our 125th by pumping Barcelona,if that hurts you then tough titty.
aboslutely not but then it is a strange number to make a big song and dance about.

The lack of comments against your opinion, partick, tells me the bhoys know exactly what pete's about, however to agree would look a bit hypocritical the next time they're ranting about Green
You man like Rangers celebrating 140 years?
dont burst their bubble Tafka ,this is too much fun
The question was
"Did they use "100 years of unbroken history" as a slogan at Celtics centenary?"
I'm pretty sure they didn't. This years "unbroken history" line was a dig at us wasn't it?
tells me the bhoys know exactly what pete's about,
I know what Lawwell's about, doing his best for Celtic thats what, and long may it continue.
