"So he [Lawwell] can't turn around now and say - we don't need Rangers when the rivalry MADE his club and ours."
He can and he has.
You man like Rangers celebrating 140 years?
dont burst their bubble Tafka ,this is too much fun
===
then again it wasn't like ppl were questionning whether your club had died and was a brand new club was it?
PB probably not but had they thought of it back then ,then who knows maybe they would've.
then again it wasn't like ppl were questionning whether your club had died and was a brand new club was it?
So it's ok for you to celebrate something but when we do it(and defeat Barcelona ) we are having some kind of dig
I didnt know you guys were so sensitive.
I'm pretty sure they didn't. This years "unbroken history" line was a dig at us wasn't it?

In essence what if it was?
Motorola when they made the very first mobile phone called AT&T on it for their first call. The biggest rivals at the time.
Look at BA and Virgin - hardly best mates.
etc. Assuming the comment had no deflamatory comments and is not directly related to Rangers then its all in the ear of the person listening.
Now the best comment from yesterday was the reaction to Jim Traynors 'piece' on the official Rangers website....for that he should take a bow as that is the way to handle a slight on the club...
Why do you think they used it?
Do you think it was in reference to Rangers?

now i know you aren't that thick
i thought you lot didnt care what we did,yet '125 years of unbroken history' has got you wound up,
you are the people after all what do you care?

we don't we were just highlighting yet another instance where celtic have to measure something in relation to us. in this instance they were attempting to portray that we had ceased to exist as a football club where they had 125 years of "unbroken" history
Tafka
My point is that Lawel is claiming celtic don't need rangers but is making (in my opinion) statements which subtly poke fun at us in order to appeal to and please the Celtic support
We also have celtic using a thinly disguised dig at rangers to promote their 125th year.
And at the same time we have celtic fans holding up Lawel and Celtic as being "dignified"
It bugs me
As I said earlier and RE your point about other companies not being best of friends - that doesn't bother me, it's the sleekitness of the wee digs that I don't like.
"in this instance they were attempting to portray that we had ceased to exist as a football club where they had 125 years of "unbroken" history "
We do have 125 years of unbroken history and Rangers Football Club no longer exists.
Jumping to conclusions again TRFC? or is that the paranoia that you Rangers fans now possess.
Celtic Celebrated 125 years of unbroken history and we did it in style,by beating the best team in the world. What an occasion. How do you like them apples...
Partick-
Lawell asked the interviewer to move on from the negativity and stated other clubs are none of his business.

no its just blatantly obvious if you take off your green tinted glasses for a minute.
you already confirmed to Partick that your centenary year celebrations was not a celebration of 100 years of "unbroken" history
Aye thats usually the reaction after another dig
"No further comment"
further more your radio advertisement slogan, always have been, always will be
aye but nothing to do with rangers or what happend in the summer right enough.
TR It's about time we started compilin' a dossier,I think...

Yep, thats another one....
"We don't need Rangers.....but we'll make a wee jibe about them in the hope it encourages more folk to buy a season book"
Any Celtic fans actually willing to concede that their club is (like I'm saying) having wee digs at Rangers?
You do know you can disagree with your club sometimes don't you? It's not some mental cult that stops you having your own opinion...even if it looks that way sometimes.
TRFC who would've thought you Rangers fans would be so sensitive, poor wee souls,i hope we dont do a 150 year unbroken history slogan next so we dont offend yeez and make yeez
did a recent match programme not make mention of 'the last ever OF game'
Nae dig in that
Partick strangely enough I was thinkin along them lines anaw
