First time I think I have ever agreed with you

I saw your ratings for the Fulham game and see you agenda is still intact

Surely even you can see now that Rafael is developing into a top class right back?

Only Zab has been as good this season

Small spelling mistake, that. No need to rub it in.

Is it a case of "grass is greener".... looking over at other clubs who have #10s with a silky first touch and a razor sharp footballing brain?

No.

When I criticise Rooney I am comparing his form to his own performances in the past. I'm not comparing him to players of other clubs.

He is still a very important player for us but I don't think he is as good as he was a few years ago.

When we had Ronaldo, I thought that Roo was up there with him, more or less, in terms of quality and/or all round contribution to the team. Alas, I don't see the same Rooney as we had back then.

Technically, RVP has shown him up a bit this season.

Red Misty has it spot on.

People are now realising the difference in class between Rooney and RVP as they're both in the same team.

He has declined from 2/3 years ago. Reading articles from the summer of 2010, he was being touted alongside Messi and Ronaldo. This is how highly he was rated by fans, media and fellow professionals/managers.

Its nothing to be sniffed at though, not being at Messi and Ronaldo's level now. Just saying he's not pushed on from that 2010 season. Instead he's gone backwards imo. For example, you can see the difference in RVP's movement and Rooney's movement. RVP just glides around everywhere whereas Rooney just seems to be huffing and puffing away. There's a difference in their finishing from inside and outside the box. RVP imo has better vision, better set piece ability. Rooney does have good workrate, he tracksback but honestly I fail to see this all round game that Rooney has that makes him better than RVP.

Rooney can turn it on when he wants to but he's inconsistent in his performances at the moment and has been for a while now whereas RVP produces to roughly the same level nearly every game.

My post about Rooney comes from slight disappointment too.I'm not being bitter in my previous post or trying to WUM. Ive watched Rooney since when he was a young kid moving from Everton to Utd and watched him rise to stardom. Just feel he's stagnated right now.

I don't really get how 35 goals from a #10 position can ever be classed as stagnating. It is simply an unbelievable feat.

Sure, goals aren't everything, but his all round play is good too.

Let's see Rooney at 29 years old before we judge him and RVP.

Let's see RVP in a CL final or a game that wins the title.

Mr Chelsea sums up my views perfectly. RVP's movement reminds me of Larsson at times.Just so classy and efficient; a striker who seems to know exactly what he is doing.

nobody is saying Roo isn't a good player. He just isn't quite the player he's cracked up to be imo, and certainly not the player I hoped he would be based on his past form.
