As I said earlier, if we were loaning Saliba to a PL side I’d be miffed, but at least could see the point.
Going to Marseille just seems like the club, and his people, don’t think he’s ready for a decent league.
Saliba is still young, so why would he worry?
But Arsenal obviously signed him too soon. Another waste of time and money.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not sure if you're in the wum or actually believe this complete and utter load of shiete
Mikel Arteta tells me Saliba isn't ready for this league
Mikel Arteta also tells me Runarsson is ready for this league, while also depending on the indisputable talents of Willian, Ceballos and Mustafi.
Mikel Arteta, and his merry band of suck up, can fack off back in the toilet.
Favourite Saliba performance last season, Serial?
There’s probably quite a few for you to chose from, so take your time, mate.

My friend, your head is stuck so far up Arteta's backside I'm surprised you even knew Saliba was an Arsenal player
Thing is, if it was Guendouzi being loaned to Nice last season, he’d also probably have made the France Football team of the season.
I’d have listened to you all banging on about him, and been p/ssed off Arteta hadn’t given him a chance at Arsenal.
Something to ponder...

I’ll take that as being against PSG then.
Or Lorient.
Of Le Chien Et Duck
In case everyone has forgotten, William Saliba is 20 years old.
Last time we had a CB of that age regularly turning out for Arsenal was Tony Adams.
You’re probably all too young to remember what he was like at that age. He’d have been ripped to shreds were he coming through in 2021.

That Saliba, as a 20 year old, is not on the same level as, Ruben Diaz, so we shouldn't even include him in the squad?

I seriously doubt he’d have. Arteta would have loaned him to Lorient FC so we’d have never knew how good or bad he was
Joke aside, the kid just spent 6 months on loan. 6 months in the life of a 20 years is a decent amount of time.
Get him back for preseason, assess him and if he is really not up for it, then loan him back out.
The fact that he gets loan even before returning for preseason tells you that there is more to it.

Mate, there's nothing more to it.
The. Manager. Doesn't. Want. Him. At. Arsenal.
It really is that simple. You don't let a 20 year decide where he wants to go on loan if you have a serious plan for him. You tell the player that he goes to X club because X club will help him progress in a certain way.
Now if Wenger or Emery or Mourinho had done this then not a single person would bat an eyelid, cos they are established winners and they have a clue what they are doing. When a facking nobody, that already has a very dubious record in judging players, makes that decision people begin to question. Question a lot.
Tbh, we should be thankful, because half the fanbase were already against Arteta and now probably a vast majority are. This will be transferred in the stadium, and those fackwits that appointed this nobody will be hearing a lot about it in the coming months.
With any luck, this Spanish fraud caant will be gone by October. Ready for the next clueless mug to take over.
AAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNDDDDD L'Equipe have chsnged their article and removed all mention on any obligation/option to buy purchase. So I can stop acting like a whinging fat priiick.

You’re probably right. Whether he’s ready or not, Arteta clearly does not want him around the squad. Hence loaning him out before pre-season even starts.
It’s no reflection on the player to say this is now one of the worst transfers in PL history, let alone Arsenal’s.
I now believe he will never play for us. Talk of him still being part of our plans is just to protect whatever value he still has. The only thing that might change that is Arteta being sacked next season.
If he’s not, because Arsenal are doing well, no one will care either way.

I’m being neither, Serial. Merely assuming not many people on this thread, myself included, have seen Saliba play an entire match, let alone anything beyond that to make an informed call on where he’s equipped to be a regular starter - as he needs to be, and we all want him to be - in the PL.
Do I want him in the squad? Of course I do. Remember I was the lone voice saying Ben White joining could / should be bad news for Holding or Mari.
What was I basing that on? All the good and great things I’d read and heard about Saliba. Now that some of those same sources are voicing slight concern that perhaps the kid isn’t quite there yet, why is that than any less relevant than the positive stuff that preceded it?
I’ve never claimed to be a Ligue 1 aficionado - I barely have time to watch PL matches these days. In fact as far as I can remember, the only French league match Ive watched was about 20 years ago when (massive HB) my band was on tour in France.
Bordeaux. At home. Great ground. Horrible match.
