Not really. Wages are proportional to transfer fees. Those incoming are on a lot of money. And those youngsters winding down their contracts are demanding a lot to stay.

Palace could be above us still at that point... If we lose the ground will be singing Vieira's name and Arteta will be off

I remember at the end of the Wenger days people actually talked about wanting to lose games, just so that he could leave. Obviously I was no big fan then, but even then I would never want The Arsenal to lose games. Didn't see the positives.
Now that we have no European football and we're flirting with relegation and we're pretty much rock bottom, I'm kinda shifting away from my, fairly recent, position of not caring to almost wanting us to lose just so that this obviously useless as fack manager would fack off. Almost.
