Perfect communication from Saliba.
That is what the Arsenal fans were hoping for.
This doesn't fill me with confidence he's intending to stay at Arsenal tbh. I mean, if he were intending to, why the need to broadcast it?
He's probably going to try to force his way out, in the most public way possible.
If so, then he's not the kind of character we need at the club atm - Arteta and Edu have just spent the last two years clearing out the idiots.
Just hope Marseille can afford him. We should be demanding at least £40m for him.

As far as I now was this the last interview with Saliba and the broadcaster of a few. They followed him the whole season and his development.
Aye don't know what U3245 is talking about tbh
Oh, during the interview he did say that he wanted to stay at Arsenal but also acknowledge that it is not up to him and then he added that leaving like this (without playing a single game) would be a shame!
Make of that what you will....
Perfect communication from Saliba. That's the spirit.

I interpret this as to say it would be ashamed that not playing for a big club like Arsenal a single game and not able to showing what I being made of would feel not right.
Why alway try to find the hair in the soup?
If he is playing depends on the manager but if he progresses as he did this season there is a good chance he will make it.

Being with the national team and after going on holiday?
Unless Arteta is going to have his hand up Saliba's 'arris, operating him like Basil facking Brush, how is this anything to do with him?

If he is getting his chances he needs to use it as every other player in the team.
And we are playing in Europe this season so he will get his playing time.
It is a tricky situation and one which will need to be dealed with in the right way. The WC is in 5 months. As it stands, Saliba is going with the senior team. Deschamps confirmed it today that he likes his maturity and calmness. With Varane being in sharp decline, it is even likely that Saliba is a direct starter. Bringing him back to AFC to make him seat on the bench and miss the WC won't beneficiate neither parties.
Competition is a good thing to have. We see at the end of the season both of ours CB's run on their last legs.

I don't disagree but again, the WC is in 5 months. As talented as he might be, hard to see him establishing himself as a starter in such a short period of time.
If he were to miss the WC because lack of playing time, we will end up with a very unhappy player and we know how this will end with this current regime.
Well I dont see it like you. Deschamp has no choice as to take him to WC if he stays fit. Varane is on the decline as you said and injury prone as well and choices even in this french team in the CB position are rather rare.
France have loads of CBs. Upamecano, Lenglet, Varane and Zouma all options from outside the current squad.
16 PL games, 6 EL and at least 1 EFL game.

The players you mentioned are all worse than Saliba currently. Lenglet not really an alternative. Barca want to get rid. He didnt really play a role there anymore.

Konate, a starter in the CL final was only called up because of Varane injury. If Konate doesn't make the squad, it is not unrealistic to think Saliba on the bench won't make it either.
Anyway. I rate Saliba and I am happy that he is willing to show what he can do.
