Do you think Saliba will start in the premier league for Arsenal knowing Arteta's nature of preferring the status quo?
"It was actually a discussion between IAWT, GT and myself that you interrupted"
Did you think Ramsdale would come in after 3 games, knowing Arteta's nature of preferring the status quo? The same Arteta who moved White to full back, disrupting the status quo?
And Arteta's only preference for Status Quo is the Emile Smith Rowe and Bukayo Saka song

I did when you didn't as I recall.
What are the picking order for England? Does White have a chance to make the WC squad?
Gabriel/White have been a success for Arsenal. But you can continue to be disingenuous if you like.

Outside chance I would say. Southgate prefer others.

Maguire is better than him ask Southgate
Nadal winning Roland Garros in straight set.
The "next generation " of players still not up to it.

They are and I dont want Arteta to change it if they are 100% fit. Saliba will have to fight for his place and there will be enough games to show that he could be first choice.

Not sure what that matters? You said yourself "I think its clear from Arteta that he envisages a CB partnership of Saliba and White as the future. " So what does the "success" of White/Gabriel matter?
He has pre-season to work on the defence (one which didn't do great towards the end of the season)

No one will ever beat his record in Roland Garros. Amazing player.
Arteta tends to make a change when things go wrong serveral games in a row and keep making changes until we start winning. He then sticks with whatever the new set up is until we hit a rough patch and the cycle starts again.
It's better than just sticking with what's not working to be fair but also seems quite random, like he's not really building toward something specific most of the time (guess it makes sense when you have no real experience in a role)
He has pre-season to work on the defence (one which didn't do great towards the end of the season)

You're being kind here. Did we not conceded more goals and lost as many games as in the previous season?

Was a complete walkover today. The Djoko match was great and basically the final although Alexander Zverev was looking close to Nadal before getting injured (think he'd always lose that game but it was closer than today)
Of the three I think Gabriel, being left footed, is the definite starter for the first game of the season and going forward
Can see a situation where if Tomi gets injured White slots in at RB instead of Cedric

Exactly.
Wouldn't be the biggest shock to see Tomi-Saliba-Gabs-Benji start as a back 4, given the mess of the Scottish lad.

Its does matter because I doubt Arteta breaks up their successful partnership immediately. Saliba for all his promise is an unknown quantity in the premier league which is a step up from French football. It will take him time to adjust. And we can't afford to drop points (as last season showed in the way we missed out on the top 4).
Whereas it was obvious to those not defending Arteta making a mistake of choosing Leno over Emi, that Ramsdale was being bought to replace Leno as quickly as possible.

There still a big gap though between Nadal/Djokovic and the rest of the pack. The same way that we experienced the Messi/Ronaldo era, it's gonna be hard to get 3 amazing players like Federer, Nadal and Djoko at the same time
