Macca, Rob has been watching Giggs more than we all have, so we need to accept his word
Giggs constantly tries that backheel and it has never come off to my knowledge.
ManUtdDaredevil
This goes back to my problem with Ferguson's sentimentality. Neville should never have been in the position of playing for the first team and at half time away to WBA realising he wasn't good enough. It's the manager's job to be ruthless sometimes, however much he clearly loves certain players like G Nev, Giggs and Scholes.
Giggs has been one of our better players this season and until last night no-one had an issue with him signing for another year.
Why pick on him when Rooney was far worse than him last night? Valencia and Young are far worse than Giggs but no-one is slamming them and saying the should go on this thread.
You can be sure that after that backheel Giggs won't be in CM for a very long time. He'll be back on the wings where people appreciate him and can lay off the ridiculous Gary Neville comparisons.
I have watched Giggs entire career. The reason why he was never a true world great as a youngster was that he crossing was poor. He had everything else.

What shocked me more was Ferguson's decision to bring on Valencia ahead of Kagawa and Nani last night, baffling!?
--------------------
Kagawa should have been on for Rooney by half time
Wazza just isn't fit
Nani for Welbeck too
Then we could have played the last 30 mins with
Nani Carrick Clevs Young
--------------Kagawa--------------
--------------RVP-------------------
Not the missmash of a formation we did have
his crossing was poor ? really ?

yes. His corners were and still are worse.
RedBlackandWhiteside (U2335)
i see, that's why Van Persie takes the corners, we should let Young take them, afterall, he's a winger.

"Giggs has been one of our better players this season"
I would have to disagree, he started the season playing in the middle and was poor, Ferguson then moved him out wide round Xmas time and he had some very good performances. Second half of the season he has been played less but played well out wide against Real and away to QPR (although his defensive duties were none existent that game).
Overall I think most fans would agree Giggs is fine out on the wing, preferably playing no more than 60 minutes a game. Not in the middle in a 2 man midfield, against a packed City midfield for 90 minutes, makes no sense what so ever.

Yes he has.
Rob, a club of the magnitude of Utd shouldn't have 40 year old players turning out for key games

.................
Yes really.
It has always been the worst part of Giggs game.
Any United fan who has watched him since he burst into the team will tell you that.
Most of Giggsies assists over the years haven't come from crosses from the wing, more passes from inside the box.
Now, Beckham, he could cross a ball.
RVP's delivery or our goal was exceptional, why can't any of our other players whip in a cross with that kind of accuracy and speed?
ManUtdDaredevil (U9612)
AC Milan would disagree.
Giggs was never a great crosser of the ball.
he was a lot more skillful than Lee Sharpe, but Sharpes final ball p 1 5 5 £ d over Giggsy's everytime.
Giggs hasn't been that great though. He's had a few decent games, and all of those have come on the left wing.
It's in the centre that people have a problem with him as he completely upsets the balance of the side and makes us play worse as a result.
Nobody is saying Scholes and Giggs are stopping others getting games, but I've already stated why I think their inclusion in the squad upsets the team and stops it moving forward with a new identity.
VC alluded to this years ago. I've been in agreement for much of this time.
Them being able to put in the odd good performance should not detract from this.

Young could do that, he use to at Aston Villa.

That is either a bare-faced lie or a tongue-in-cheek remark.
Many, myself included, carped a lot when Giggs was rewarded with an extension.
I will say it again: 'Giggs is well overdue his P45'.
Van persie's goals
What did that help Milan achieve?

You're right but he hasn't been doing it much for us recently has he?

Serie a champions and champions league winners as well.
Giggs has certainly deserved his contract extension.
Anyone who debates that hasn't been watching. Last night was Giggs' first poor game since October time.
How many poor games have the likes of Rooney, Valencia, Nani, Cleverley and Young had since then?
