I'm tempted to go back to ML on 2013 but it takes ridiculously long to get from one match to another. I don't care about a new pair of boots FFS!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
yes you do
Both FIFA and PES on current gen need to make the game as playable as possible. It's easy to go from one match to another on PES 6 and not get bored after playing several games in a row.
When are you getting your PS4?
Can we go shopping together on the same day?
At Villarreal, Pablo's cross is turned into his own net by Cygan to give us the lead. It doesn't last long, as Alcantara looks to pass back to Aouate who lets the ball go through his legs for another own goal. Solskjaer and Estoyanoff both shoot wide, but at least we pick up a 1-1 draw despite having no shots on target
We lose our first European game away at Torino. Delgado heads in the only goal. Ramon saves well from Stellone. We have chances, Abbiati making a great double save from Bodipo and Solskjaer, the latter also hitting the post, but it ends 1-0.
Last game before the transfer window is Sevilla at home. The visitors look dangerous, Duda's shot saved by Ramon and Chevanton hitting the post. Ramon makes a great save from Chevanton's free kick. We improve, Valeron's shot blocked by Ocio and Palop saving from Bodipo. 0-0.
Dno 1man.
We're halfway through the season and we've already conceded the same number of goals as in the whole of last season
Got Collins John (I know ) on loan from Fulham in the transfer window.
First game back is against Barcelona and once again we prove to be their bogey team. Valeron hits the bar with a header and after Valdes saves his shot, Bodipo scores via a Puyol deflection. Bodipo has chances to make it 2-0 but can't score again, Messi has their best chance but we win it.
Alex Hleb is on the bench for the Osasuna match John gets his first start and steals the show. He heads in Serrano's corner to make it 1-0 and hits the bar. With 5 minutes left he volleys in a loose ball and quickly runs through on goal to complete a debut hat trick
Penultimate group game sees Bayern visit (along with Makaay). We hit the post through a Riki header and John has a couple of chances. A 0-0 draw is a fair result which guarantees our qualification and Bayern's elimination.
Porto in the league. Jorginho scores early and our keeper makes some good saves. John comes on, we improve and he brings is level, but Tarik puts a volley into the bottom corner to win it for them, 2-1.
Man United at home in the final European Championship group game. Rooney has their best early chance, while Estoyanoff's through ball sends Bodipo through to hit the post. It comes down to a late Scholes strike to give them the 1-0 win. It means they finish above us in the group, we'll now face Benfica instead of Barcelona. Dunno how to feel.
Olympiakos. Serrano opens the scoring early on and nearly scores a free kick. Capdevila crosses for Bodipo to head in for 2-0. Riki comes close with a stunning long shot before Estoyanoff sets up Sergio to score. Cristian comes on and heads in Capdevila's corner. In injury time Rivaldo gets a consolation with their only shot of the match
Away at Betis who take the lead through Xisco. We level through a dos Santos shot which takes three deflections and goes down as an own goal. Dani heads against he bar for them but Alcantara sets up Sergio to put us ahead. Xisco and Sobis miss the target and we hold on for the win.
Into the last eight of the European Championship (slightly annoying they call it that, that's a whole other tournament ffs ), first leg away at Benfica.
We get an early away goal as Valeron sets up John. John then turns provider to set up Serrano. Sergio leads by example and gets his third in as many games. Our domination is summed up by Andrade getting forward from the back and shooting just wide. Moreira makes a great double save from John and Serrano, but is helpless as Serrano sets up Valeron to make it 4-0 by the half-hour mark.
Benfica improve after the break, Rui Costa and Miccoli almost reducing the deficit, although John's header hit the bar. A Ronaldo-esque performance from him () and the match finishes 4-0. We've been better on the road this season but it would be a surprise if we lost out now.
Valeron got an 8.5 for his 21 passes, goal and assist. Think that's the highest rating I've seen so far
Away at Levante in the league and although he's not fully fit yet, Hleb gets his first assist for us by setting up John. Manchev has a chance to equalise but Ramon saves. I give away a corner and Mustapha heads the equaliser. Coloccini blocks a Manchev shot, Serrano shoots wide and Cavallero saves from John as it ends 1-1.
Home leg against Benfica. Nuno Gomes has a couple of decent good chances but Ramon does well in goal. Duscher's long shot is tipped over by Quim and from Garcia's corner John's first touch off the bench is a header to put us in front. A Benfica sub scores a header of his own as Marcel earns them a 1-1 draw. 5-1 on aggregate, we're in the last four
Checking up on RM in the pre-match report. They're not making much use of Raul, RVN, Reyes. Could make a cheeky bid, Ruud tore me a new one at the Bernabeu.
Madrid start well, with Raul hitting the post and Ramon having to make saves from Robinho, Cicinho, van Nistelrooy and Bravo. They were dominating but a long through ball sent Serrano scampering down the left and crossing back towards the edge of the box to set up what can only be described as a ridiculous goal by Collins John (it's Collins John ffs ). Shades of van Persie against Charlton; although lacking the acrobatic element, John volleyed the ball with his weak foot and it rose majestically past Casillas. It's Collins John. Anyway, Ronaldo's effort was saved by Ramon, but in injury time Pienaar's ball was stabbed home by RVN to equalise. Hleb still had the final chance, saved by Casillas. 1-1. That goal...
Not many chances at Atletico. Estoyanoff sets up Bodipo for the winner. Kezman heads their best effort over.
Away at Valencia next, Hleb fully fit for the first time this season. Aouate makes saves from Renard and Tavano as they start well. In the second half Vicente chips in a beauty to put them in front. Hleb finds John who powers in an equaliser. Both sides have chances to win it, Canizares just gets enough on Rodriguez's shot to keep out the best chance as it ends 1-1.
Away at Zaragoza in the league. Ponzio heads against the post, we have a few half chances and Milito scores to give them a 1-0 win.
First leg of the European Championship semi-final is away at Real Madrid. Aouate has to make an early save from van Nistelrooy while John hits the post. In the second half van Nistelrooy again has the best chance, but Aouate saves again. 0-0, not the best result going into the second leg. Whoever gets through will play the winner of Chelsea vs. Man United, Chelsea have a 2-1 lead after the first leg.
Espanyol in the league next, where we're out to avenge the 4-1 drubbing from earlier in the season. Kameni palms Serrano's effort to Riki who opens the scoring. Solskjaer looks dangerous but it's Serrano who makes it 2-0 from Garcia's corner. Pandiani heads one back after the break but Solskjaer makes it 3-1. Serrano sets up sub Arizmendi to match the 4-1 scoreline late on
Home leg of the semi against Real Madrid. Madrid have the best early chances, Aouate saving from Borowski and van Nistelrooy. In the second half Capdevila puts in a cross and John powers in a diving header to put us 1-0 up. In hindsight it might've been better not to score as Madrid find some urgency and Pienaar sets van Nistelrooy to equalise with his fourth goal against us this season. We have to go for it and Bodipo shoots wide before John has one last chance, hitting the post with a left-footed shot. It ends 1-1 and we go out on away goals. Madrid will face Chelsea in the final for the chance to add to their cup win.
Away at Sporting Lisbon. They take an early lead after Deivid hits the post and Bueno tucks in the rebound. John soon equalises and Sergio sets up Estoyanoff to sweep the ball in. Ricardo can't hold John's header and Sergio helps the ball over the line to extend the lead, before dos Santos crosses for John to head back across the keeper. 4-1.
Chelsea beat Madrid to win the European Championship while Arsenal win the Masters Cup ahead of Bayern
Benfica at home. Garcia finishes from Serrano's low ball and Serrano scores himself from Zabaleta's cross to make it 2-0. Ramon saves from Maxwell to keep his clean sheet.
Penultimate game of the season against Villarreal who are one point behind us. Forlan flashes a shot across goal and forces a save from Aouate. Serrano gets a free kick on target but it's tipped over. Solskjaer's header is saved and falls to Bodipo who equals his previous season's league tally of 8 goals. Our 1-0 win and Madrid's loss means they not only can't win the title, but we overtake them and move into third
Sevilla away in the final game. John's deflected header goes down as a Poulsen own goal, before Serrano sets him up for an emphatic finish. He tests Sevilla's goalkeeper, a regenerated Kahn, before making it 3-0. There are chances for John, Chevanton, Fabiano and Riki in the second half but it's Solskjaer who finishes the season in style by making it 4-0.
Valencia win the league with 59 points, 1 ahead of Barcelona. We're an unlikely third with 55 points (2 more than last season ) thanks to our late season form, ahead of Real Madrid on goal difference. Villarreal and Sevilla also make the European qualifiers. Chelsea, Bayern and Inter won the other leagues with far more points than Valencia.
Rivaldo is player of the season for keeping Olympiakos up, while Villarreal's Franco top scores with 16. Serrano shares the most assists with Deco at 8 each
We may have conceded 9 goals more this season but we scores 17 more thanks to new attackers like Serrano (4 goals and 8 assists, a contender for player of the season), John (11 league goals while on loan in the second half of the season ), Solskjaer (5 goals) and Garcia (3).
With the transfer window open I instantly picked up John on a permanent deal. Somehow got Raul Albiol on the cheap from Valencia even when it said it was unlikely. Let the ageing Juanma go.
Didn't really need him but picked up Podolski on a free. Probably got too many strikers now, not enough midfielders.
We cruise to victory in the first friendly against Saint Etienne. Arizmendi scores, then Serrano chests and volleys in Sergio's cross. Dos Santos lays off a free kick for Podolski to blast in from 20 yards (knew I bought him for something ) and Garcia smashes home before Sakho grabs a consolation. 4-1.
Lol @ the game describing dos Santos' two yard layoff as a 'pinpoint cross'
Got Jonathan de Guzman from Feyenoord in exchange for Joan Verdu, because you can't have too many de Guzmans.
Sampdoria in the second friendly. Flachi volleys them ahead but Serrano quickly equalises. Hleb hits the post and it ends 0-0.
Tottenham next, and King gives it away to Podolski to score. Berbatov finds Defoe, the ball flicks up and Defoe volleys in for 1-1. Once again we nearly win it, but Estoyanoff hits the post.
Final friendly is against Milan. Gilardino scores the winner, with Jonathan de Guzman wasting our best chance.
No more signings, happy with the squad
Porto in the first game of the new season. Ramon saves from Babic and Valeron sets up John to fire in our first of the season. Porto create more, and Ramon makes good saves from Quaresma, Vieirinha and Alan. In hindsight I made some poor subs, couldn't absorb the pressure and Meireles crossed for Quaresma to make it 1-1.
At the Bernabeu for the first European qualifier and Sergio's early penalty puts us ahead. Zabaleta crosses for Serrano to head in and even van Nistelrooy can't save them as we win 2-0. Can't find that clinical edge in the league at Levante though. Cavallero keeps out John and Serrano to keep it at 0-0.
Sampdoria in the next qualifier. Bonazzoli breaks away and powers them in front and the closest we come is a Podolski shot into the side netting as we go down 1-0.
Away at Benfica. Serrano puts us in front and we look comfortable until Mantorras levels. Bodipo comes on and puts our best chance wide, before having a goal ruled out for offside. 1-1.
Third European qualifier at Roma. Doni saves from Bodipo while Tonetto shoots over and Totti tests Aouate. Jonathan de Guzman sends Serrano through and he rolls it to Bodipo who does get his winning goal this time. 1-0.
Still looking for our first win in the league. We host Zaragoza and Serrano sets up John to put us in front. He nearly adds another with a nonchalant volley, but makes do with a simple finish from Hleb's pass. Garcia heads them back into it but we get the 2-1 win
Madrid in the fourth qualifier. Ramon makes an early save from Raul before Bodipo gives us the lead. Either side could score, but once again it's van Nistelrooy who puts the ball in our net with a header 1-1.
Away at Atletico in the league. Luccin's speculative volley goes just wide while Riki forces a save from Franco. Mista scores the winner and Aouate is to thank for Torres not increasing their margin of victory.
Away at Sampdoria in the penultimate qualifier. Podolski gets his first competitive goal with an easy rebound and backheels into the path of John to finish a great move. He nearly powers in from a free kick, but Olivera gets one back. Coloccini slides in and picks up the first red card we've seen in this ML and still gets a 7.0 rating playing in midfield, great performance from him. 2-1.
