Ferguson best manager ever?

Vidic handed it to him to lift, pretty rare but then it is rare to have the greatest manager in Britain as your manager so proper respects had to be paid.

Fergie asked Vidic to hand it to him to lift

No one at United does anything other than what Fergie tells them

No Vidic gave it...

If it somehow lessens the pain of SAF's achievements you can believe it though.

he did it in 99 with the European cup

where's the humbleness Fergie ?

Maybe if some of the other managers were as good as SAF they would have players forcing the trophy on them constantly...

It just shows what a great manager he is and how thankful the players are too him. I wonder why the players didn't do this with any previous Liverpool managers...

I think we know exactly why.

The Liverpool players didn't do this because men like Paisley wouldn't have dared gone for the spotlight

Bob remains the only manager to have won three so he had more right than anyone but no... Bob was far too much of a gentlemen

posted on 14/5/13

I don't think the United players would have given it to Bob either, but then again he was never the type to build a club up never proved he had that ability... same way I don't think they will give it to Moyes to lift....

Only someone who stands out like SAF gets such an honour from the United players.

he told them to do it and threatened to kick a boot at their head if they didn't

then he blurted some incomprehensible drunken guttural noise and passed out in the toilets. Again.

I think we are getting confused between SAF, the greatest ever British manager and the old useless drunk Kenny... If you ever get confused just try to remember Andy Carroll for £35 million and you should pretty quickly remember which is the good one and which is the clueless drunk.

building a club up ? Well he didn't have the jackpot that the likes of Ferguson had

Yep, just a bunch of lads from the British Isles who conquered domestically and in Europe

something the rich one... never could

I think he copied that from Sir Matt

Andy Carroll for £35 million

Good point - how much dig KD buy Veron for again?

Conquered? I think you mean DOMINATED - didn't get that from Busby and Slur Alex certainly didn't learn it from Sir Bob!

Certainly not, a paltry 6 titles!

I am sure SAF realised the true talent lay with Shankly the one who brought the club up like a phoenix rising from the ashes not the bloke who got lucky coming after Shankly and just continued his good work for a few years.....

Surely £28 million for Veron is a bargain when we compare it to Carroll... guy actually played pretty well for us and after a season or two of good performances for us we sold him on for more than half of what we paid....

As opposed to Carroll who never managed many Liverpool appearances and will probably not even move on for half his transfer fee!

how many titles did Ferguson win in his first 9 years then ?

a paltry what ?

and don't use the old chestnut of taking over a poor team because prior to him taking charge, United were regular top 4 finishers

No and don't call me Surley!

The team was 12-14th when he took them over Metro, not everyone is given an easy ride of it like Paisley...

Cut the £13 million Veron cost to own for 2 seasons certainly is a bargain in comparison to paying (lets be generous here) £20 million for the few games you got out of Carroll does make Veron look like a bargain in comparison...

Though obviously he isn't a bargain when looked at in the wider scale...

A bargain if we compare him to downing as well!

It took Paisley only 1 season to make his mark on the team and bring unprecedented success. Those 3 European Cups as manager will forever leave Fergster crying in his sleep thinking what might have been.

Just like Liverpool supporters in the mid-80s.

Oh sorry saf, you're one of those - I mean fergie is amazing and has never done anything wrong and no player or manager is as good as anything In a united shirt!
