Guys.......................................Big is relative in my opinion.
In the PL there are truly a number of clubs what I would call big.
United,
City,
Arsenal,
Chelsea,
Spurs,
Liverpool,
Everton
Newcastle
Now this is not a pee ing competition. In terms of money we know City & Chelsea can easily outbid anyone. United are without doubt the most marketable club in the PL & probably the World.
Liverpool are one of the most iconic English clubs & have great history & some of the most passionate fans in the World.
Arsenal have in my view been consistently the best football playing side in the past 15 years in the PL. It is only the past two seasons that their standards have dropped slightly.
Spurs have been knocking on the big four door now consistently for the past 5 years & have been acknowledged as one of the best footballing teams in Europe. Unfortunately that is not enough, until Spurs get a new ground I fear we will be playing catch up for a few years yet.
Everton are the club that bucks the trend, underfunded & with a ground that needs updating or replacing they consistently challenge for European places & find good bargains in the transfer market.
Newcastle are the giant that snores away through the years, if it is ever awakened then the rest of football should worry. Who knows what would have happened if they had gone on to win the PL in the mid 90's..............................
This argument was on the guardian the other day, one comment stuck out to me, though I think Liverpool are a big domestic sleeping giant, I don't think they are as big as some would have us believe.
The stat was focused on around are Liverpool a big club based on the fact that for a two decade period they were good? 2/3rds of the clubs total trophy haul came in those decades whereas the rest have come from over 90 years of existence.
I think domestically they are still a big draw, but over the last few years have definitely fallen from the mind of those around Europe and the globe, only 3% of revenue last season came from foreign sources.
The famous atmosphere has also disappeared and the ground is almost unfit for purpose (redevelopment massively needed).
In England I think they are still a big team overall though that is waning due to its history, in terms of player power it's around the sixth biggest players would rather given the choice join United, Chelsea, arsenal, city and Tottenham.
Tick tock tick tock lads it's only 8415 days ago when you last won the league title.
Big modern day clubs would never have to wait that long, but then again you are no longer a big title challenging club. You are now the biggest mid table club in world football
A big bite from Phillipa there
Unlike Phillipa who can't bring himself to say anything complimentary about Liverpool because he leads a life of the bitterest bitterness coupled with a vitamin D deficiency , I can pay Everton a compliment. Everton are a pretty big club. They're bigger than Spurs in my opinion.
In order I would say right now it is
United,
Liverpool
Arsenal
Chelsea
Everton
Villa
Man City
Spurs
The size of any club, regardless of niche, is decided by the amount of members/fans.
Forrest are a big club, Leeds are a big club, Shef Wednesday are a big club.
The tosh spouted by some glory boys on here is ridiculous.
Big club is good enough to hit a home run
You tried that one before Dr Phil, it didn't work then either.

Can't believe "Dr" stuck all this time

You are one of the biggest culprits, and this latest episode of guff doesn't help. Although it would be hard to label you a glory boy, more an utter cretin.
Tough guy VC out in force
You're an armchair yank who does not go to games. Your opinion hold no valifdity in my eyes. Simply an utter unt.

.................
No.
1. I am not a yank.
2. I still go to games. They just don't happen to be in England very often.
Keep trying, fool, as I love watching you squirm and dig yourself deeper.
Borussia Muncheongladbach are pretty big
