Apparently (the totally neutral) British Broadcasting Corporation asked every expert and they all said no.

Despite Scotland being net contributers to the UK & there being plenty of small nations that do well, Scotland is a special case that would definitely fail in the case of indpendence.
Initially I thought the "too wee, too poor, too stupid" line was just empty rhetoric. Sad to see so many people actually believe it.
