they should sack him if we miss out on top 4
1st to 5th or lower is not on
You mean if he pulls off the most inept title defence in the history of the premiership? Of course they will sack him. As a matter of interest are you a very second rate wum, or a complete moron?
What happens if we finish out of the top 4 but we win a silver pot or 2?

league was the priority this season so if we miss out on top 4 and win fa cup he should still be sacked
Actually I don't think they will sack if if we came 5th say and just missed out, but finish 8th or 9th then he may well have to go. The transfer window was a shambles, some of the players need to look at themselves and start performing. Yes we all know we lack quality in areas such as CM but the lack of passion, fight and direction is most worrying.
Sorry mate, didn't mean to be ruse. But it does seem a bit of a daft question.

So if we finish 5th (lets say on 70 points) and win the FA cup, Moyes gets the bullet? And if we finish 4th (lets say with different results we get 68 points) and win sod all, Moyes keeps his job?
I am fairly certain that Moyes will be our manager next season regardless of whether or not we finish in the top four this time around. Fifth or sixth and they wouldn't sack him; any lower and I suppose questions would be asked. But if I had to make two predictions right now they would be that
1) we will finish lower than fourth this year and
2) Moyes will start next season as our manager.
If this was his second season in charge, then I'd definitely say he would be gone by the end of the season. With this being his first, I think he could be fighting relegation and he will still be the Manager next season.

well it depends on how we played in the last few months of the season
if moyes plays with a style of play and is playing positive football and is showing that he is getting things right then id give him a chance
cups are just bonuses to be honest

If we have a good window and Second half of the season, just misses out on fourth then he deserves another season.
Unfortunately I don't see it.
I honestly believe that any manager that finishes the season outside the top 4 with the same squad (plus a £27mil acquisition) that finished 1st the season before, deserves to be sacked.
If we were Chelsea or Real, Moyes would already be on the brink.
Seeing as utd are on the Wall Street, the investors want to see CL as a bare minimum.
It depends, if he finishes just outside the top 4 but wins a trophy; he'll stay.
If he just misses out on top 4 and comes very close to winning a trophy; he might stay.
If he finishes outside of the European places altogether he should be sacked.

This right here.
It's ironic that we laugh at all these clubs that sack their Managers, even if they go on to win trophies! I believe Real Madrid had 23 different Managers over the period of Sir Alex and Chelsea are on their 10th since Roman Abramovich took over?
We've got so many fans desperate for us to become like them. So we appoint someone next, has about 20 games and we're not really happy with them either, do we just sack them too.
I'm not saying Moyes is the answer, but there is a reason why everyone bangs on about having consistency and time. 20+ games is not enough. Give the man 2 seasons, with at least 3/4 transfer windows and make a proper assessment from there.
If United finish out of the European places and wins no cups should he be sacked?
If we then employ someone such as Klopp, Ancelotti, Mourinho or Guardiola (clearly just a hypothetical situation) and they achieve the same results as Moyes, would they expect the sack as well?
Moyes won't win a trophy, don't be stupid guys. He's never won a thing in his life for a reason.
He also neevr won an away game at any of the traditional big 4's i.e. Chelsea, Liverpool, United, Arsenal despite being in charge for like a decade.
He's not a big game manager.
I'd sack him if he doesn't get top four, that would be way too big a drop and really not a sign of someone to be entrusted with the money required to rebuild the squad.
I still think he will get top four though and if he doesn't, a lot will depend on the manner of it.

I agree dark, but the problem with our situation is that Moyes doesn't seem to have the backing of the players.
Usually, when this happens it's the beginning of he end.
Everyone seems to mock Chelsea for sacking managers left, right and centre, but look at the success they've had (okay, they have spent billions!!!!!)
Not saying we should follow suit, but you can't deny there success.
