You know the Metro is the same newspaper that reported that Carlton Cole played for Spurs in a pre-season game and scored twice! .
Joke paper

Worrying for the papers that they are struggling to find actual transfer stories after 7 days of the window...
The quote about him not wanting to join in with Y word singalongs with the squad is true though.
Who knows Galv, who knows
All I do know is that the transfer window makes for a boring read, only concentrate on Spurs Twitter for the official announcement
It's not a "play me or I'm off" tactic. It's a "I hate it here, someone come and get me" plea.
I thought when Sherwood took over, he might play Lamela, given his attacking intent but for the life of me I can't understand why Chadli gets in ahead of him. Give the boy a chance, have some faith he will come good. If we're 3-0 up against Palace, give him the last 30 mins. It can't hurt. Levy must be absolutely seething that a third of the Bale money is cast aside. This is why we're a joke. We have someone in a suit buying the players, and someone on the touchline who doesn't fancy them.
Levy is a diçk for going back to the DOF system.
Baldini is a diçk for buying these players.
Sherwood is... just a diçk.
Shambles.

So you don't think that being Lamela's dad gives him a a head start in knowing what's going on with his own son? The quote is real, it's libelous otherwise. It makes more sense to believe his dad more than anything the club say, he doesn't have anything to protect other than Erik.
If you mean we're all thick çunts for trusting his father's intent then by all means, insult us.
If they are the quotes of his Dad maybe it's just trying to be clever in trying to get his son playing for the first team.
Lamela came on at 3-0 up against Stoke if you remember correctly, which is what you are suggesting against Palace.
Apparently we're a shambles despite being 2 points off 4th. Honestly...
Why is it no other newspaper has reported this?
Why is it Metro live on second hand comments and quotes?
It's a joke newspaper, always has been always will be.
Google Erik Lamela. Jose Lamela.
You won't find it elsewhere, all I can see is his agent is in town

It's in a couple of other publications now. The point is this isn't like the lazy journalism you see from The Daily Mail where there are no quotes to back up any claim. This is direct from the horses mouth. You can't just make that $hit up and get away with it. It's not a tabloid. The Metro is a free newspaper that drip feeds actual 'news' with no agenda. It's real alright. It's just unclear whether Erik shares the same opinion as his father. Either way, it's a worry.
I'm not worried, free publications will not worry about printing something that's potentially liable is guess.
It's your standard transfer window speculation, he'll be gone on loan I'm sure, would make Levy look like a complete useless c if he was sold,

I wrote an article earlier this season quoting Lamela brother that he was starting for us.. complete ballacks. It makes no sense to let him go back to Italy when he needs to learn the language and the league. Have our resident ITKs had their say yet?

He needs to be given a run of games
===============
No he doesnt. Like every other player he has to perform well to earn a place in the team the in the following fixture. He, like Soldado, sadly look well off Premiership pace - and sometimes this happens when players come over from other (& slower) leagues.
People have to forget what players have done elsewhere when trying to justify who should play, who should be selected, and who deserves a run of games in a team.
Chadli deserves just as much a run of games as Lamela if we're taking into account goals-to-games ratios and such like from historic performances in overseas leagues.
I really wanted Lamela to shine. Everytime i watched him i wanted him to show everyone why we paid so much money for him. But the cold facts are he hasnt lived up to his reputation. Is it his age? Is it the strange environment? Is it that he's just not cut out for the pace of the Premiership? I dont have all the answers but i do know that players should be played on merit - not on reputation - and quite frankly Lamela doesnt deserve to be in front of many players who have proved themselves to be better for us.
I'm sorry to be so blunt but we should not be swayed by sentiment. I dont care if he's a kid from the youth side, whether he's a cheap buy from the lower leagues or whether he is our record buy from abraod, at the moment he doesnt look good enough - its as simple as that for me.
Must be something with papers beginning with the letter 'M'....
Mirror, Mail, Marca, Metro - would all fairly empty if they eliminated all the fictional rumours or stopped their journalists putting 2 and 2 together and getting 71
Surely him wanting to leave/play is nothing to do with him wanting to play in the World Cup this summer perhaps? If it's not and he genuinely can't settle in England, we look to sell him and lump a sell-on clause onto the deal so if he does prosper later we recoup
Lamela should get games because of his huge potential, the reason we paid so much for him. Chadli is a good player but I think he'll do well to make a career for himself at Spurs. Coco could be something special and if we neglect his development we not only risk ruining his career (hence this story) but wasting 30m.
the sad reality is that a club like spurs will always prefer andros townsend to erik lamela.
chicken is an exact example of the problem i am talking about.
townsend is overrated, and has much less potential than lamela. this is clear to see. however spurs will always play the fast winger with little to no end product, over the slower, more technical players, who if given a chance might be the real deal, but will be deemed a flop because we never gave him the chance.
the treatment of erik lamela by spurs (avb) has been an absolute joke.
in that europa league game at home v anzhi i think, he was MOTM and things were finally working for him. so avb dropped him for the next game v newcastle - and we lost.
avb then recalled him to the side AWAY AT CITY, for fack sake. obviously he didn't do anything that game, then he was dropped never to be seen again .
this club is so thick sometimes. so so so thick.
Metro is not fit to wrap up fish and chips.
There is however a problem with is buying prospects and certainly prospects for 30 million. It is always a risk and it ain't cocos fault we paid such a price.
As a club we are not bankrolled by a benevolent billionaire. Whist Lewis has loads of cash he appears to treating us a business and wants it run like one.
We are not in cl. We do not have the squad strength to play "prospects" and potentially have to carry them. Our ambition is regular cl and to do that we should be playing the best fit 11 for every league game.
It's a bit of a vicious circle and I can't criticise a manager who plays "tried and tested" a la Harry.
It nearly always takes time for players to adjust. Look at Suarez. Whilst his first season was impressive look how he has improved since getting used to pl.
I agree with you both tbh....I was annoyed azza came straight back in....but by the same token...lamela shldnt be an auto start just cos he cost a lot....
He shlda been told....azza is out you ya chance to start its up to you to take it....
Seeing azza just come straight back in musta killed him.....
the simple facts of the matter is that we bought a player who wasn't some random kid with a bit of talent.
the guy was playing river plate first team. then roma first team for two years, scored 15 goals and was one of the standout players in the league.
thats serie a, not some pub league.
and he has 6 caps for argentina. think of the attacking talent at that country's disposal… and this guy has 6 caps at his young age.
so he is not a joke. and what do we do? we buy him and never play him and then wonder why he never adapts AND on top of that.. every time he plays, there are little glimpses of the talent. the guys confidence is on the floor, and we have faacked him over. (along with his world cup hopes).
this guy needs minutes on the pitch, in the Prem, starting with this saturday v crystal palace, if fit.
if he starts every game between now and the end of the season, and doesn't do much, then maybe he has flopped.
but think - it took so many players so long to adapt to the prem. perfect example being our own Sandro. who was horrible for about a year.. and now is probably the best player at the club.
