Ryan McLaughlin has joined Oldham after being released by us. Another lad who had some promise in the ressies but didn't make the grade. All the best to him in his career.

There are loads that don't it's just that people don't notice (Ibe, Sterling, Ojo, Rossiter, Branagan, etc).

Just young body growing but also being put under pressure from the age of seven.

He'll still have a career but injuries nailed him. I reckon Smith would still be playing for us had he not got so badly injured at 19/20.

I agree, they are put under enourmous pressure when still growing.

gerrard went from midget to 6 whatever in 2 years and he just had not caught up with his height in terms of body strength when he debuted for us.

Rossiter had loads of injuries, Brannagan has had plenty too.

Ibe and Sterling have both been quite lucky, although Sterling has had a few.

Early days with Ojo, he's already had a few niggles since first team exposure.
