Who do we have that play deep:

Can, Hendo, Milner, Wij, Lucas and Stewart. That's a long list for me.

It does lack x factor but maybe Wij could give us that.

Wijnaldum is pretty weak in the tackle from what I have seen. Lucas looks like he will be off before the end of the window. I personally don't rate Stewart (he's not a gifted passer of the ball at all) but he can do a specific job I guess. I don't see Hendo or Can as DM's but they do have facets to their game.

So I'd like a specific deeper midfielder personally. I just really want someone who can put their foot in, has a decent touch and can pass.

Gundogan was an attacking midfielder at Nurnburg before Klopp moulded him into that all out box-to-box midfielder.

Maybe he can do the same with Wij

I know he played deeper at PSV but a midfield of Can/Wijnaldum seems very risky to me.... unless we have the ball of course!

I thought Klopp was gonna do that to Can...but it looks like Can is always the one being asked to sit deeper and dictate regardless of the partner.

Against barca that was the first half pairing, in the second it was Henderson and Stewart and they dictated the play far better.

I personally like Stewart, perhaps his passing needs work, but that's something that can be worked on, his pressing and recovery of the ball is very good though and sometimes you just need someone to break up the play and give a simple pass to a team mate.

Yeah he's an athlete for sure and many rate him on here. I just don't see it personally but at the same time I'm surprised Spurs let him go.

He's great as a 5th choice

He had probably just met the guys from the Spurs board.

"We lost basically three centre-backs because we have Mertesacker, Gabriel and Koscielny, who is not ready, who are out of the game," Wenger said on Friday at his news conference. his only options against Liverpool at the Emirates will be 21-year-old Calum Chambers, 20-year-old Rob Holding and 18-year-old Krystian Bielik

Really hope so. It could be a massive boost to the team and a nice fillip to start off with.

Momentum could be key to our young squad and a bit of belief with some competition for places is just what we need.

I'm worried we're a little too confident, myself included. Getting the feeling Arsenal are there for the taking, so a defeat could have a pretty bad effect on confidence.
