game day baby, GAME DAY!

Opinions on who will get the nod up front lads, Origi or Firminho?

With Arsenals troubles at CB I think Origi should start, but I have a feeling that Klopp may go with Firminho with Lallana playing as the AMC.

Tekkers being linked with West Brom this morning

I don't know who Firminho is

I could see Tekkers at West Brom, him and Rondon having balls pumped up to them would be a right handful.

They could sell Berahino for around £20m to finance most of it.

Brainfart... whiskey can be an uplifting, but ultimately a debilitating substance.

Who was it defending Moreno the other day? Let him go on a free, absolutely shocking and that's being kind.

I wasnt the only one but yes, i was, and yes he had a poor 4/10 game today.

But as i said on the match thread, hes not wholly to blame when he gets no cover from the man in front (clyne does) as coutinho drifts so central, he looked a lot better when coutinho went off, and had more options for passing.

Coutinho should always be central with someone ahead of him, get him back dictating play and shore up our left side a bit.

For the goal Lallana was more at fault than Moreno, the piroutte lallana tried to pull off was idiotic and cost us posession as we counter, that is ALWAYS dangerous, Rush and Torres can attest to that, both thrived on the space when the team (often themselves) won the ball high up the pitch, knicking it off a counter.

Some will always blame moreno for his positioning for the goal, but if his job (as instructed by klopp) is to overlap coutinho in attack then thats exactly what he was doing, coutinho went inside, so why did clyne stay back? moreno often stays deeper if clyne attacks, watch the game, it doesnt take a genius to see.

Which is not me saying "We cant do better than Moreno" And its not me saying "Moreno isnt at all to blame and had a great game" as some seem to be saying.

Its me saying that moreno is just ONE part of whats going wrong, and its not the complete end of the world if we cant sign another left back, just rejig the attack so he gets the same cover as clyne does.

Look at both goals that came from out right, mane and clyne there, as well as a midfielder getting over,

Who is marking walcott for the other? sure moreno isnt there, neither is cout, neither is a midfielder, neither is a CB, why? because we were getting forward on the counter and he gets less cover than clyne does.

The way morneo gets pilloried on here for ANYTHING that can remotely be blamed on him is absurd.

It doesn't matter who is in front of Moreno, he will make basic errors because he isn't capable of doing basic defending consistently.

Clyne doesn't make the counter attack mistakes that Moreno does. Nothing to do with defensive cover or tactics. It's because Clyne is not an idiot so knows when to attack and when to hold position. Footballers need to be able to think for themselves.

Moreno is incapable of rational thought. Just look at his hair cut.

On the positive side.

WHAT A WIN!

Shame we couldn't hold the 4-1 but amazing result nonetheless, and our goals were all brilliant.

Mane

An away win at Arsenal scoring four is rare as fvck.

I haven't seen a goal like Mane's since McMannaman.

So happy.

I defended Moreno but today was a car crash. Thd header was literally worse than Sunday league standard but to follow it up with that tackle is nothing short of odd tbh. To then follow that up with that loss of position, despite the poor turnover, is again odd.

Great result though!

feels like that performance today was what everyone was hoping mane would do for us, just hope he can keep at it on a consistent basis

They all weren't there because Moreno was supposed to be there. Lallana is the type of player that will try things and lose the ball more often. He was in an advanced position with 8/9 players behind him and tried a skill knowing most of the team was still behind him. It was as low risk as you can get.

As a defender you just can't run off and leave an opponent alone unless you are playing the offside trap. Leaving an opponent unattended and onside is a basic error. I still think Moreno will come good but his mistakes are costly and frequent.

Four great goals. we are going to be fun this season...terrifying for the opposition when we are attacking, terrifying for us when they are! Happy with that.

I agree to a certain extent that Moreno is getting excessive criticism at times on here - he is obviously told to bomb forward as soon as we win the ball back and start a counter attack. Not his fault Lallana (?) lost the ball so easily, leaving Moreno stranded.

However I don't want him as our LB for the rest of the season, and would like to think Herr Klopp is going to get someone in.

Thought Klavan was superb. Really confident and commanding. He reads the game really well, which negates his lack of pace.

Moreno had a shocker today but the goal wasn't even partially his fault.

we had acres of space on the counter and he's supposed to bomb forward

what we're not supposed to do is lose the ball with 5 open players available and only one Arsenal player half arssed marking anyone. It was a horrendous error to gift him the ball.

Klavan has been impressive.

Looks an absolute steal at 4.5m to be honest.

Has the composure you expect from an experienced player, and uses the ball well.

I don't care what anyone says, Moreno shouldn't be bombing forward when Walcott is in behind him 20 yards from goal.

We are very careless in possession at times and you can't excuse the lack of ball retention, but you don't go that far away from your man the second we win the ball back when the opposition are so close to your goal and have so many men forward.

Just pick the right times to go.

How many times does Clyne get done like that for goals? It happens regularly with Moreno. Clyne still gets forward constantly. It's just timing and brains.

No way a defender should be expecting his midfielder to do this

you can see him go on the overlap as cout comes inside, probably what hes been asked to do by klopp.

Im pretty sure no gameplan involves lallana trying a stupid pirouette costing us a great counter attacking opportunity
