Ok, so maybe the odd DM (although competing in the transfer market for Kante would always be difficult.

As for Williams, well we already have signed our CB, so I don't see why would would buy another at that time.

Never heard of the West Ham guy though.

But my point remains. Not buying someone that another team did, does not necessarily mean we have not been actively trying to bring someone in.

CB and GK addressed. LB frustrating.

12 - Liverpool have allowed the opposition fewer shots (12) than any other PL team in 2016-17, yet have conceded a joint-high 5 goals. Soft.

does that mean we need more from our keeper? if the defence are actually reducing chances that much, it cant be any coincidence that mignolet for a while now has been one of the worst saves v conceeded keepers in the league.

Didnt attempt to save walcotts

Unlucky with the Ox goal, maybe could have done better, he flapped at it.

Chambers was close range, and he got it just inside the post, but it was the post that mig was covering.

I'd still sign Cresswell, this injury could be a one off, he's played 250/260 league games over the passed six seasons.

Didnt make much of an attempt at saving vs vokes..

And could probably be expected to do better vs gray

Most every goal Mig concedes I think, could've done better. Look at the first goal at the weekend. his anticipation of the shot was very poor. It was practically passed him before he reacted.

I don't think he can be expected to save every shot, but it's a rarity that he actually saves anything that makes you think, good save mig.

Hopefully this german is an upgrade.

Mignolet is definitely bad.

I don't think there is much dispute of that.

Karius is coming back early (Sept as opposed to Oct), so the quicker the better. Hopefully we will only to put up with Mig for a few more games.

Rumours are that Karius will be fit after the international break so I'm sure we'll find out sooner rather than later.

And that's after playing Arsenal too, one of the best attacking teams in the league.

I'd have definitely taken Williams as well.

£12m was a snip for a player of his quality and experience even if he is 31. He knows how to sort out
the clowns around him and is a proper leader, he showed that at the Euros. We have no player with any such leadership qualities.

People will probably say he doesn't suit Klopps style of play blah blah but at least he can defend, unlike any of the players in our current team. Think we missed a trick there.

So poor that little old Wales made the semi final under his captaincy. He wasn't poor, he made one mistake against England in the opening three games. Also clean sheets against Russia and Northern Ireland. He didn't have his best season for Swansea last year but they were poor as a team. Not going to judge him on one game. He's better than anything we've got that's for sure.

One season* rather

We signed our CB back in January. A good 6 months before Williams was available. Can't fault the club on that one.

I'm sure some of the people saying we should have been in for Williams recently were saying signing him was a terrible idea a couple of years back when he was linked.

Not impossible, our defence now is probably worse than it was two years ago.

I've always thought he's been a bit of a thug, particularly when he injured Coutinho that time, but always rated him as a footballer.

He'll do well at Everton, sure of it.

Good performance tonight, a couple of decisions for Klopp to make for Saturday. Mane, Can and Sturridge all to start. Liked the look of Matip but i expect Klavan will keep his place.

Missed the game but just watched extended highlights. Was it as comfortable as it looked? Heard Origi and Can went off injured too?

Just saw that Roma got knocked out of the Champions League qualifiers by Porto. I'd love to see us try amd get Nainggolan but it won't happen. More chance of us ending up with Salah instead.
