From the few matches i've seen of Konoplyanka I would wrap that deal up very quickly.

When he played against Tottenham - he waded past their players and really was the standout player.

if you want to kill 3 birds with one stone then we should go for Cesc:

1) He's a quality player who will improve us
2) It will annoy United fans who think LVG will try and sign him
3) Arsenal fans

He's only a young lad - but he is very strong and quite skillful

I'd certainly look at him as an upgrade on the limited Lucas Leiva.

Because he has many strong attributes - and like I said in my previous comment, is an upgrade on Lucas the Yellow Card Leiva

I'm not a big fan of Lucas but I'd still have him over Diame. Diame himself is very reckless and doesn't really have the passing ability. He is probably better going forward but in truth we need someone who is much better than the two.

Rodgers does eem to have big belief in Lucas. I hope we keep him and still think he has lots to offer, with no place in the Brazil squad he will get a full pre season under his belt which he has barley managed to get, last time he got it he got injured v City in the warm up, hopefully it will help him get his fitness back to the required level, when he's fully fit and in form he's still a valuable squad player IMO.

We coudl spend the money elsewhere and keep Lucas, still need 1 more quality CM though.
