Really crap set of results for us today other than City's red cards. Big morale boosting wins for 3 of our direct rivals. Hope the team will respond well at Bournemouth.

This was a test for us before the weekend, even bigger now after Chelsea, Spurs and Arsenal wins. We've got a good record both home and away to Bournemouth recently so I fancy us to win but it'll be a close game.

I've gone for 3-1 on the predictor. Hopefully Origi starts with Firmino and Mané. We've been used to a 4-2-3-1 formation before the Coutinho injury.

Think we will see more of a 3 in midfield - Can, Henderson, Wijnaldum. Then Coutinho will be back when Mané packs his bags for Afcon. Took us a while to break Sunderland and Leeds down but I think today's game and the way they play suits us.

Any idea when Sturridge is back?

Brawl at the end was a bit stupid, I can see more retrospective bans for both clubs potentially.

Farmers slapped fernandinho round the face before he retaliated and grabbed cesc by the throat, surely the fa will look at that?

Length of the bans might be interesting too, agueros is likely to be 4 games because it's his second, but fernandinho grabbed cesc by the throat twice and pushed him over the hoardings.

Poor cesc looked like he was gonna sh!t himself
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Fabregas did great. He was perfectly in control and hum not reacting wound fernandhino up more.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not really!

He slapped him in the huddle and then sh!t out!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Was it just me, or was the fall over the ad hoarding staged by Fab? I saw a replay where he was given a little push, and had a sneaky look to see where the hoardings were before collapsing over them?

The way we play, we'll always be susceptible to games like yesterday. As long as we bounce back and learn from it, I'm really not concerned at all.

I actually put it down to complacency, so treat it as a kick up the arris, I'm sure Klopp gave the players a mega rollicking.

I still can't believe we lost but football is mental.

Now we have to go and bounce back.

West Ham at anfield is about as good a game as we could get for the next fixture. They are a shambles and conceding goals and losing players everywhere.

Let's beat them with a clean sheet and move forward.

Yeah I can imagine Klopp gave them both barrels after the game.

I do wonder whether we would have crumbled like that with Matip on the pitch though.

posted on 5/12/16

Probably not, but there were warning signs in the Palace game in which he did play that we still had that kind of collapse in us.

I don't think it's as simple as Matip solves all.

Still pi$$ed of about yesterday.

It does highlight that, despite the array of attacking talent we have, we are still very very short defensively. We had two central midfielders in the back 4. Now Milner has done a fine job for the most part, but there is still the need for a dedicated LB. Same with lucas. he's done alright when called upon, but he's just not a CB.

Karius i really want to give the benefit of the doubt to, but there seems to be a recurring theme of dropped balls from him. That error he made earlier in the second half where he tried to catch the shot and it squirmed through his hands and over the bar....

Still think top 4 is our if we can put results like these behind us, but we are still short quite a bit defensively.

Strange how lovren has mainly avoided criticism, thought he was a major part of the 3 goals we let in, need to replace sakho if hes been sold in jan

posted on 5/12/16

Milner has been superb at left back. Was sold down the river by Lovren but could have just let Mason go through than foul him. We are not going to find a better left back than Milner. He did seem to be outnumbered at times on the left and not sure what Firmino was doing as ever the Bournemouth right back was causing us problems.

I think everyone acknowledges that he's a bit Skrtelly. Can seem great one match and calamatous the next. Still reckon there are other positions that need filled first and we will look to get by with him and Matip together for the remainder of the season.

Dortmund make an offer for Dahoud:

"Liverpool and Manchester City are scrambling as Borussia Dortmund move for Borussia Monchengladbach star Mahmoud Dahoud.

The youngster is a top target for both Liverpool and City, where Ilkay Gundogan is convinced he could handle Premier League football.

However, BILD says BVB have made the first firm move for Dahoud ahead of the January market.

BVB have offered 15 million cash plus Nuri Sahin for the Gladbach ace.

Gladbach management are now waiting to see if BVB's move will flush out rival offers from the Premier League."

Let Dortmund have him for cash and then we will sign Sahin instead.

posted on 5/12/16

Sahin really?

posted on 5/12/16

he'd never sign for us

posted on 5/12/16

Sahin is going to Arsenal to cover for Cazorla. You heard it here first.

Sahin would never choose liverpool over arsenal

If Klopp wants Dahoud the club should back him. We'd destroy Dortmund on wages but City is a different matter. You'd think he'd get more football with us but even that's up to debate.

Don't know what's happening with Grujic. I though we ran out of steam in the middle yesterday, particularly Wijnaldum, and he wasn't even on the bench. Can't see that he's injured either.
