Another team where wba have set up completely differently. Not saying we shouldn't have done better, cos we were awful, but if they set up against us as they did against Leeds, we would have got at least 5.

I think getting Jota back would be massive too, teams had figured us out at the end of last season, it was his different movement that gave us a good start to the season.

I'm not overly concerned, we are in a good place considering our Injuries and juggling competitions

He’s out until the end of Jan the club said but his recovery is going well. I think they will aim for the Spurs game on the 28th for his return.

Nah Jota isn't ready yet but could be back sooner then expected apparently.

hopefully Gomez end of feb and then VVD in April.

I like Bobby but I think the lack of a natural centre forward is starting to get exposed quite a lot more by opposition teams this season.

Jota has much more a strikers predator instinct, being in the right positions at the right time, it’s why he will always score a lot more goals than Bobby. A lot of the top ex pros say it isn’t really something you can teach and I’d tend to agree.

Might be a position we look at improving in the future, not sure whether it’s Klopp’s plan to play Jota or out wide in the future when the front three move on.

And yeah no time frame put on Gomez but he literally only just got back on the bike yesterday, would be surprised if he plays again this season.

Ok Gomez injury was bad.

VVD has been able to follow his schedule and I think he’s ahead of it, such is the indomitable spirit of the man, won’t be beaten.

Also need to factor in that having to move Fabinho out of position permanently has meant we have lost control of the midfield in several games that we likely otherwise would have. So Gomez has been a big miss.

Our defensive record since we lost VVD has been sensational though, we have only conceded 10 goals in 14 matches in the PL and CL, in which time we have played Ajax twice, Atalanta twice, City, Spurs and Leicester. Only conceded more than one on a single occasion, against Atalanta.

You’ve got to wonder with that defensive record why we are dropping so many silly points and start questioning what the feck is going on at the other end.

Just browsing through the games on FlashScore and noticed Fowler is manager of East Bengal in the India Super League. Pretty random and takes learning the trade to a new level

Gomez was poor from project restart. Making mistakes every game more or less. Even after VVD injury he was outshined by Fab. For me he is our 4th choice CB. I'm desperate for VVD and Matip to return while Gomez is just a shrug of the shoulder.
