Liverpool fans really think "they" made the difference and not the loophole we found in the repayment terms
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So you actually think that they should have ransacked Anfield and maybe had a riot?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We'll never know because we never got to the point of that being a necessity. Utd fans obviously think otherwise.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We got to the point of nearly being in administration. We got well past the point United have but didn’t feel the need to assault coppers and break into Anfield, rightly so.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Do you believe we would've still got to that point if we acted earlier in the manner that Utd did yesterday?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nope

Do you think the Glazers are really looking at yesterday and considering selling up?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

No but it may put pressure on the league to do something. Plenty that feel a leveraged buyout shouldn't have been allowed in the first place.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Agreed.

Technically, I could do what the Glazers did. Why can't I get a loan to buy the club and then use proceeds from that club to pay the loan. I shouldn't need money to do that. Obviously not as simple as that but still...

Okay so you're not showing support for the Glazers but 2 cops getting injured is where you draw the line?

Man you have hated the civil rights movement.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is about the ownership of a sports club, not facking civil rights!!

You’re the most negative ‘fan’ I’ve seen on here. You rarely have a good thing to say about the club. Yet here you are saying breaking into Anfield and adulting coppers would reflect well on fans and show real support

United are at the top of all the news and front pages of the papers, with fans being largely condemned for their actions. Not the positive reflection you’re advocating.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I obviously don't support violence on coppers why must you always try to twist and manipulate what people say to "win" the argument. With H&G I would have supported protests that get games called off definitely.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Whether or not you support violence on coppers clearly isn't as clear as "black or white" though right?

Unless we are shareholders, It is literally none of our business how the football clubs are run - it is totally (and again) literally the owners business.

We may not like it or agree with their decisions, but that’s it.

From what I gather the biggest issue United fans have with the owners are the leveraged buy out and then taking money out of the club. Both are issues between the club and the fans. The club aren’t in peril financially, like we were under H&G. Look at the amount that’s been spent by them, £1bn (over £500m NET more than us since 2013). Yes they could spend some money on the stadium.

I can’t see the league getting involved unless United fans do the same repeatedly. Then sanctions on the club would have to be brought. I can’t see the league intervening in making the Glazers sell up though.

Personally my love of the club, and the history and connections my family has with LFC, goes a bit beyond simply buying a product which is precisely why I was against the ESL.

This is the sad reality, and United have gained far more than any other club from clubs being run as businesses, they were one of the leading forces of the formation of the PL and were the fastest to learn to exploit it for cash.

Well clearly not, as this site didn’t exist in 2010. And I hardly used the old bbc 606.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I started posting in 2003 on the old BBC forum and the wumming was more intense than on this forum. The Mancs were obsessed with the G&H ownership and the court case in 2010. They knew we could get better owners and start competing again.

Ok, our club was hijacked by cowboys and we sat back and did nothing.

You talking shte. I remember a lot of people were protesting and some even attacked their IT systems.

Hicks said they were hampered by ' militant internet terrorism' by the fans.

You know what Americans are like, militant internet terrorism could be something as minor as calling Hicks a fat yank.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

This is actually true though.

They could award us a 3-0 win but we would still somehow lose 2-1 at Old Trafford, yet again!
