I don’t support them taking action leading to matches being called off. Why should the rest of the of league wait for them to sort issues with their owners out?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Drastic measures are some times needed and if that means the cancellation of a football game, who cares. Ultimately everyone should want owners like the Glazers out of the game. Loaning against the club, taking money out of it after leveraging the club, not investing in the structure of the club from the training and youth facilities to the stadium etc.
From a rivals fans perspective you can laugh at a rival and even use it as a stick to beat them with but had we not had a loophole around the G&H ownership, where would we currently be?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What was the loophole?!
They couldn't finance the debt, so the bank took ownership of the asset and sold it on didn't they?

This really.
United are so far ahead of every other club in the PL in terms of commercial power. They've still managed to spend 1.2 billion quid on playing staff since Ferguson left. More than any other club, despite the club supposedly having been "milked dry"
Without the Glazers there's a good chance that would be a hell of a lot more. I struggle to show much sympathy, if any, to be honest.

Which I get and I am all for a weaker United winning very little. I just look at Germany. Look at the mentality there. Look at ticket prices and the relationships between the clubs and fans and the way they look after each other and that is what football should be. You can get a season ticket at Bayern for 100 quid and they'd never dream of increasing it by much for the sake of an extra couple of million a season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You need fans to buy 51% of the shares which will not happen. The UK aren't a communist country were the state can remove private owners from owning companies.
Bayern have won the last 8 titles, which without checking assumingly makes it the least competitive of the so called bigger leagues. It is an internal issue but part of a wider problem. I don't pretend United are doing anything other than for themselves and their club, but if it plays a part in making changes in the game, then a cancelled game of football is a small price to pay.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There’s been plenty of other bad owners of PL clubs. I didn’t see fans of other clubs condoning bringing league matches to a halt to get rid of the owners. What makes United so special?
I’m not against their protests, except the violence on Sunday. I just don’t agree with other clubs, broadcasters etc being inconvenienced to suit them. Or should disgruntled fans of other clubs follow suit and we have games regularly called off?

They can protest on their own time and not when it affects other clubs and broadcasters et al. Go the training ground everyday and make their voices heard. It’s not like it won’t be covered in the media.

Name a club/owners anywhere in the world that take as much from the club, not only in terms of the amount but as a % as the Glazers do...
As for the German league being a one club league... Bayern have 30 odd titles whilst the next closest have 5. They have always been the elite team and really from the 70s where the ownership of the club was irrelevant they have been dominant. Historically other clubs have never been able to touch then regardless of the 51%. And to be honest, even if that was the case, I'd rather have a football structure that cared about fans and had a connection with them than where we are going and have gone with the prem. The prem generates enough revenue through TV deals and prize money not to price out supporters.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But when you completely change the structure like they did then sure you would want to make it so that the league's more competitive. It’s all well and good engaging the fans and giving them all that power, but I guarantee everyone would get fed up if it results in United or City winning everything all the time.
Also, I’ve not seen you say how you think fans are going to find several billion to buy this 51%, not to mention the astronomical continuous investment that comes with the majority shareholding.

Historically German clubs were not for profit organisations which made it easier to implement the 50 plus 1 rule in 1998.
How do you think the fans will finance the 51%.

Historically German clubs were not for profit organisations which made it easier to implement the 50 plus 1 rule in 1998.
How do you think the fans will finance the 51%.

“ Name a club/owners anywhere in the world that take as much from the club, not only in terms of the amount but as a % as the Glazers do...”
Without having a look into it I couldn’t off the top of my head. However would you say the owners of Newcastle, Bolton, Bury etc have been good owners? They’ve been much worse than the Glazers. I didn’t see games being postponed because of the plights of those clubs.
They can protest on their own time and not when it affects other clubs and broadcasters et al. Go the training ground everyday and make their voices heard. It’s not like it won’t be covered in the media.

Bury have gone out of business and Bolton as good as. Maybe if protests had been more forceful it whole have been different....

I don’t think getting games postpones would’ve helped their cause
