Asking for improvements to the team means we hate the club
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s not just asking for improvements to the team is it. It’s the constant moaning and negativity, along with shiite like ‘FSG are ruining the club’

Some on here aren’t happy unless they’re having a good old whinge.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Trouble is there's the other half who will apply the above to anybody who says anything other than how great every decision the club makes is.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Don't think this is true at all.

There have been plenty of fack ups during their time as owners, several PR disasters spring to mind.

But going in to last season with Phillips as 5th choice CB wasn't one of them, who on earth expects their 4 first choices to be injured at the same time?!?

In fairness we all raised an eyebrow at Lovren not being replaced. Obviously, the gamble backfired worse than we could have possibly imagined!

We do have by far the thinnest squad of the top four especially in an attacking sense, unless you think Minamino and Origi will play a valuable part.

It's irrelevant, neither of them earn much money, who will come in as an improvement on them, happy to sit the bench for their wages, on a similar fee to what we would get for them?

Unless you buy in to conspiracy nonsense, easily dispelled by taking a look at the published accounts that is the situation we are in. Covid hammered us, and so do the covid changes to FFP, keeping a big loss making year on the books for another two years.

FSG aren't out to defraud you. We may have made similar to the top 6 teams in terms of revenue the last few years but we also have a massive wage bill, because we pay lower contracted amounts and much higher bonuses.

You can't budget based on winning a CL or PL each season, Leeds bet their budgets on success and it sent them bankrupt. The fact is that our stadium is only just starting to catch up to the biggest teams in England, our Sponsership revenue has only taken off under FSG, the club is still being modernised and properly built, and love them or loathe them FSG are very fair owners, no money out, no money in, the club stands on its own two feet.

You can check the accounts to see that they are living up to their end of the bargain, and if a player klopp had wanted, was available within our budget I don't see why they would risk angering their £15m a year manager (the second highest paid manager in the league)

Klopp is happy, I trust klopp, and the betching and whining from some people on here is fackin ridiculous and tiresome and destroys the thread, there are PUBLICLY PUBLISHED ACCOUNTS which dispell the nonsense being peddled here.

Is the squad really "that" thin though?

Assuming VVD and Konate will be the regular starting pair, I wouldn't have any CB pairing from United, City and Chelsea over Gomez and Matip personally. Maybe Laporte and Ake but even then, the former seems to have fallen out of favour for whatever reasons and hasn't performed as well at club level for 12 months now and Ake hasn't impressed me since he's returned in his limited opportunities.

In midfield, Keita, Jones, Elliot, Ox, Milner are all astute options really. City and Chelsea have better on paper arguably but the midfield area is certainly the strongest in terms of squad depth.

Going forward there is a significant drop off when Salah and Mane aren't playing, but I can't say I wouldn't trust Jota, Firmino and Elliot presumably to do a job on most teams in this league.

Titty is Titty...he's a sensationalist. How people haven't become accustomed to this despite interacting with him for probably a decade says more about them than it does about him.

I think this boils down to whether you feel the club should borrow or not.

Many clubs have borrowed, Arsenal and Spurs in particular are heavily in debt, and as such they have spent.

I think the reason we often buy in January, more than most, is because the club wait to see if we make it out of the CL group and I reckon that will happen yet again this year.

I'm not going to get upset at them not borrowing loads of money though but I am also not a pot chaser.

Klopp has said repeatedly on record that he likes players to rest for 1/3rd of games.

We have 4 top centre backs, and Phillips who incase people forgot was the top performing player in the last month of the PL last season. He's more than capable of being fourth choice, let alone behind:

Vvd, Gomez, Matip, Konate, Fabinho.

In midfield we have an abundance of players, klopp is happy, and he's the guy on the training ground, not me, not Kash, not titty..

I've said many times Id like another forward, I banged the drum about Daka and Rafinha, I even suggested Traore would be a decent low cost stopgap. But I'm not going to betch and moan FSG are the worst owners because we couldn't get a suitable target for a suitable amount.

Remember when we took on leveraged debt to sign Torres, Masch etc?

Worked out well for us. We ended up needing rescuing from financial mismanagement by this load of "Carpet baggers"

EVERY fan was on board with FSGs plan then, and not only have they stuck to their word, they have delivered two major trophies, one of the world's best managers and some of the best football I have ever seen.

Some people could do with a bit of perspective. If rules on ownership investment ever change, or their owners lose their wealth, such as with the phasing out of oil then city and Chelsea will be sunk, they are unsustainable.

Elliott isn't good enough as a wide forward. He lacks pace and movement off the ball. He is a good player with the ball at his feet, passing and decision making.

We need in january a quick wide forward as a replacement for Salah when he goes to the afcon.

Sorry, what? Harvey Elliot? That Elliot?

Salah will miss a maximum of three games from AFCON. I'm not sure that's a need but hey ho.

I do think those who lament FSG do need to remember what has been invested into the club and the success that has been generated because of that and, like others have said, without leveraging debts from elsewhere.

Be careful what you wish for.

Window is done now so no turning back. Let's if Jan brings a new attacker or new contracts.

Klopp can't moan about 3 games a week now. He had is chance to improve on some players and he and other decision makers didn't. No doubt we will sacrifice the cups again which is still wrong.

Need some luck with injuries and hope Mane and Bobby find consistent form.

Do people think the owners are siphoning money out of the club?

Nothing further on Bobby's injury or Salah's contract, which are both concerning.

Salah probably signed it weeks ago like Hendo so we must be waiting for an event to announce it.

A lot could change on that though I would have thought. How long is quarantine? Ten days?

May miss Burnley and Norwich also if so.

Are fixtures are pretty kind over January and Feb, I don't see it as too much of an issue myself.

We usually struggle in Jan & Feb though. Our title winning season was the anomaly if you look at Klopp's reign.
