Anyone else feeling pretty relaxed about things at the moment? Regardless of whether we make top four or not, I think we'll be absolutely fine next season and be up there challenging again. Looking forward to the transfer window.
Main priority after Chelsea game was to finish season well and take that momentum to next season. This CL chance has become a bonus. Hopefully tomorrow is still about winning and not sentimental and we thrash Southampton with 9 wins to start next season.

All this Ropey league hype. That tournament is dead until the knockout stages. Boring 5pm kick offs against some unknown sides with terrible atmosphere.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sometimes you could say the same about the CL. Usually there's about 2 biggish teams per group
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The music and game being played on Tues/Weds adds to the CL.
We will need to win the group regardless so we can play 2 less games. After that it should get exciting.

I can't when oooh oooh will be playing
My favourite ever Liverpool game, from my favourite ever season was UEFA Cup.
Alaves.
Bobby will be in squad while Nunez is still out injured
Pep Guardiola on Trent Alexander-Arnold's new position:
"[Trent] played all the time outside, now Liverpool is playing with him inside. Opponents found a solution to the way they attacked and now they are solving a lot of problems with Alexander inside." #lfc [liverpool echo]
Guardiola: "In the future, opponents will find a solution to defend Alexander-Arnold with Fabinho inside. Jurgen will find a solution to do it. I would love to stay one system during seven years, playing the same way and the opponents didn't realise - but that doesn't happen."
That's why we must sign Mac Allister in the summer. Oppositions will find a way to defend Trent and its a good option to have AMA dropping next to Trent or Fabinho to link up the midfield with the attack.

Macs pretty much a done deal. We will announce it days after season ends and then go quiet for 2 months.
trick is to have too much to allow teams to spend entire plans on stopping trent. if they do then we should make sure we have nough to hurt them elsewhere as they go out of their way to stop one threat the others must be stronger.

Why did Brighton rest their best player when they were still in the CL race ffs.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Rested Mac Allister and played Caicedo at right back. Those two are their best midfield, both available and Brighton fighting for Ropey League football. They couldn't get out of their box but kept doing the same thing that was failing abysmally for 90 minutes.
De Zerbi basically threw that game and needs investigated for match fixing.

Caicedo also played RB against Arsenal and nobody was complaining then. Or claiming match fixing.
They played Newcastle away 4 days after playing arsenal away. And newcastle had a lot to lose. Crap for us but it is what it is.
Caicedo was awful vs Newcastle, really was. Didnt know he was capable of being that sheit tbh. Thought he improved a bit when he went into midfield but then almiron breezed past him like he wasnt even there or ready.
https://youtu.be/QhWfxrt89to?t=132
went back to it, jesus almiron gives him 10 yards. lead to the important 3rd for newcastle too.
Circumstances though yeah, they rotate quite a lot, they p layed a huge game away at Arsenal few days earlier etc. Newcastle at home only us and Arsenal have beaten them? they were up for it and big game for them.
Everton at home was more concerning for them and their european hopes.
theyve had a lot of games recently
Klopp is expecting Kelleher to stay at the club, saying it would take an ‘extraordinary offer’ for him to be sold.
Whilst I wouldn’t begrudge him a move at all, as he’s a very good keeper, I hope he does stay as he’s pretty much irreplaceable as a no2 keeper, with the added bonus bonus that it keeps Adrian away from the first team, who it also seems is to be given a contract extension.
If Kelleher is staying then why do we need to keep Adrian? Why use a foreign player slot on a number 3 keeper?

Barca at home is one of the most complete performances from a football side imo. To go with the footballing lesson we served, there was also tenacity, aggression and just flat out physical dominance.

I’m surprised, Mamba usually doubles down on his stupid comments
I remember Firmino first season at Liverpool, it was clear Rodgers hadn't signed him, Rodgers had made a deal with the transfer committee and he got his man, Benteke, the committee got their player Firmino.
Rodgers then went to treat Firmino like he'd never seen him play before and played him on the left of a midfield/attack. There were people then who said at one stage he wasn't suited to the League and was a flop
Klopp came in and Firmino was the perfect attacker for the pressing, his game intelligence was one of the best I have seen of a forward.
Rodgers was out of his depth as a manager and talent id was not his strength as we have seen with his purchase of players.
